What Happened to the Greeks of Asia Minor? Correction! Bizantine empire collapsed, because of bad government, corruption and inner fighting, but also very importantly capability and obsession of Turkic tribes to take that land, rich loot and enslave greeks. Greek, german, roman, slav or other white woman were the highest payed luxury there was in the world at that time (actually for thousands of years. Also Turk tribes were numerous and extremely capable horse riders. As we well know horse riders always fought well against sedimentary empires and their slow powerful and expensive armies. Turkic and other nomad tribes expansion was only stopped becuase of new middle age era of guns, heavy armored horse knights and castles that was direct response to namadic war tactics that fell off very fast after that. Sadly at that point Bizantine got already consumed. In many ways i admire Turks, but in many ways i am also disgusted of how many people they terrorized, tortured and killed since the Otoman era and continue even today. Since Ottoman era numbers go well over 100 million people killed or resettled from the entire Otoman empira in its peak.\r\n

What do you mean -what happened- to the Greeks of Anatolia? Have you ever seen the architecture of the archeological sites in Asia Minor and which school can claim that they are not clearly Greek? Don't you remember the wars Brits had purposefully provoked in Mediterranean in order to keep Dardanelles and Suez, the last one being in 1919. that they had overtaken from Greeks, Serbs and the Kopts by supporting the Ottomans? Did you forget that yiur Windsdors are actually Sax Cobourg Gotta, in orher words the Hubsburgs? Have you ever heard about the disaster of Smyrne, what repercussions it had on Greeks and who's to blame? Who had invented the -Albanians- out of thin air just to secure that the Ottomanic paw will stay in Helm (Balkans in Turkish) regardless of the Serbian and Greek successful liberation wars that had ended the Ottomanic invasion of our lands and seas? Hope that your memory gets refreshed by the fresh waters of the North Seas surrounding your faraway barren greedy British Island, when you finally get what you deserve! No one would be sorry!

The Greeks have one of the most brutal and barbaric attitudes in the world. They committed genocide against 600, 000 Turks while occupying Anatolia. As they left the villages they occupied, they burned them all. They raped Turkish women. These atrocities were so brutal that after raping a little girl, they put a grenade in her mouth and exploded it. They collected many folk songs and burned them. The Armenian genocide claimed today was just an exile. And people died of hunger on the way. But what the Greeks did was 100x more cruel than this. No one can accuse us of barbarism because you have been barbarians throughout history.

Everyone is a Greek that was converted in Anatolia. 30 million Turks today In Istanbul/ Smyrna and the coast line of Turkey from troy to Cyprus has about 30/70% Greek in them. Best the two countries get on and be friends and they-re more related to one another than the whole of Italy is and southern Italy is also more related to Greeks and Turks than northern Italy. Turks need to stop kicking Greeks out and let them in the country and vice Versa. No point in being enemies in 2023. I feel like I belong in Anatolia myself and have love for Turkey and I don-t know why- I-m starting to think my blood is partly Pontian.

Turkish expansionism throughout the centuries has come at the cost of retreating Hellenism from its historical centers, and it continues to this day in Cyprus, in the Aegean (the so-called Blue Homeland propaganda) and even in Greek Thrace. Therein lies the truth of the matter. It is not a coincidence that every other culture that has interacted with the Turkish one has had a similar cultural experience. It is not an overstatement to say that being a neighbor to Turkey is to live with an existential threat, which explains why Greece has such an outsized defensive military for its size.

Correction, according to Greek History (or where I was raised, there were about 5 Million Muslim or Christian Greeks living throughout Asia Minor, then there were the Non Dhizic People. ones who were so ethnically mixed. Greece had to compete for the people
This accounting to some 7 Million Greeks.
I am ashamed of the ethnic cleansing we did. But 4. 7 Million Greeks dead? 800, 000 Deported. And the Non Dhizic people taking a Turkish Identity.
1923 symbolized Greece would never recover.

The ethnic populations of the world do not reflect the same geographic locations of then, the Ancient World, particularly in what was Antonia, Iraq, Iran, the Levant/Palestine, through Egypt and the entire N African area.
The works of David Reich, PhD, Geneticist, Harvard, -Worldwide Mapping Migrations using Ancient DNA-
David Reich has demonstrated his ethics and I highly recommend him as a resource.

The Roman Empire really came at a bad time, right when Greece had established a huge presence in the Middle East but was still accumulating the local people into Greek culture. If Romans never attacked Greece then Greece would-ve been a global superpower today. Mongols wouldn-t have attacked a unified Greece, but the Byzantine Empire had lost control of Persia and Egypt and failed to unify all of Anatolia together, thus mongols being able to penetrate and clinch Anatolia

What is interesting is that noone mentions about the pogrom of Greeks of Constantinople on 1955, when things were quiet basically, some fake news made the Turks go out and kill and rape Greeks of Constantinople. The treaty of Lausanne made it possible for the Greek minority to still reside there, and also the turkish minority at Thrace (Pomaks) to live there where they still live to this day unbothered, while the ones in Constantinople they were mostly pushed out.

because of poor management or because western -$#&-s sent a crusade and destroyed our capital & stole our gold since ancient times? The Turks found a dead empire, our fellow western allies had destroyed us 300 years before the Turks came to constantinople. The Greeks had to retake their lands bit by bit untill Turkish (--#s came for the city. At least 400 years later they did their part.

Answer: They generally mixed with the Turks, and pontians specifically with Armenians. In short, and that's the outcome sadly: the Hellenes that colonized Minor Asia mixed with these two races. Sad and unique outcome. Also sad that they prefer to call themselves -Hellenes- actually. Minor Asians/Pontians could be sent back to Minor Asia i guess?
reply

They started calling themselves Turkish after they were conquered by a group of Asian (Turkic) peoples who left a major impact on the culture. They are Europeans and Greeks who chose to consider themselves to be Turks. their ethnic and cultural identity isn't based on genetics.
Which is a good example for other nations.

reply

Where are the Greeks of Asia Minor? Well I am one and my whole family. 1. 5M of us were murdered by the Turks in 1921 and and 4M fled to western Greece. According to DNA tests nowadays there must still be many millions of Greeks in Turkey, thinking they are Turks (turkefied by force during 9 centuries.

7: 55 -Loses of 550. 000 after the first world war-. That makes it sound like the losses were due to WWI. In reality the losses were due to the genocide carried out by the Turks as retaliation for the second Greco-Turkish war and with the purpose of creating a unicultural Turkish nation.
reply

This is why Constantinople belongs to Greece, they have historical privilege to the city, and it is essentially a Greek city, only during the Ottoman ethnic cleansing campaigns were the Greeks largely expelled from Turkey (Turks were not always the inhabitants of Turkey)
reply

Pontics are not Greek. They are Hellenized Kartvelian populations. The culture and mentality of the Pontics is alien to both Turks and Greeks. Crime organizations in Turkey and Greece is Pontic dominated aswell as the political elite.
reply

Lol all the so called turks are Greeks in reality. I mean Spanish are more Arab than the turks are actually turks.
Real turks were chinese or japenese looking with smaller heights (average Asian height is lesser Tham European)

reply

Creeks and Turks have always had a strange distrust for each other, the battle of Troy (BE IT A LEGEND) appears to be embedded in their similar DNA. In fact the only difference is faith. They have both the same mindset.
reply

I laugh every time when I see a map of Europe. It-s like a big curve all around Turkey. Cyprus? European. Georgia? Europe. Kazakhstan? Europe. Armenia? Europe. If Greeks never lost Anatolia, it would be seen as Europe today
reply

What happened to the Greeks of Asia Minor? They were killed in the Ottoman genocides, along with many Armenians and Assyrians -- or, they were forced out in the -population exchange. - One of the saddest stories ever.
reply

where there red skin Indians in america where there Aboriginals in Australia
where there mayans in mexico and paru the list goes on if everyone goes back to old days all these countries will not be on the map

reply

They are still there. As all of ancient civilizations in central and eastern Anatolia, like Hittites, Carians, Lydians, Phrygians, Armenians, Georgians, Kurds etc. Just do a DNA survey. It is as simple as that.
reply

Article 2 in -Convention Concerning the Exchange of Greek and Turkish Populations-:
exempted from removal the Greeks of the city of Constantinople as well as the Muslims of Western Thrace.

reply

What happened to Native Americans, Aborigins, Maori and Palestinians? What about colonization of Africa and looting of its resources by Europeans? Your next videos should focus on these topics.

The Turks have a history of barbarian behaviour. and committing genocide.
Many people of differing ethnicities suffered greatly because of the Turks.
We must never forget.

After the 3rd generation of Ottoman Kings, Ottomans kings never had intention of fighting with any religion! Turks are a secularist. Believe and pray for what you believe in!

See still 2000 Greek living and breeding in Asia Minor which is not too bad after all. As you Westerners prefer to say, you have to look at the bright side of things.
