Learn all about the alto and tenor clef, how to draw them and how to read the notes. Instruments such as the viola read music in the alto clef. Other instruments, such as the trombone, also use the alto clef some of the time. The tenor clef is used by the cello and the bassoon, and sometimes again by the trombone. Anyone who plays these instruments will need to be fluent in these clefs, and anyone wanting to read an orchestral score or to compose or arrange for orchestra will want to be proficient in the C clefs, as they-re also known. In this music theory lesson, all is revealed. to the C clefs 1:10 - Alto clef 3:08 - Tenor clef 4:52 - Who uses these clefs?

Actually I'm using all of them, the C tenor clef, the C alto clef, the C mezzo soprano clef and the C soprano clef...it is interesting understanding how to read them all. Also I have other 6 clefs and some of them are readed in the second and third line too, like the C clef does it. Thank you for this video! Greetings from Tijuana!

Thanks for going through it slowly. Still find it hard though to understand that the C in the alto clef is middle C and the fourth line on the tenor clef. Would be hard to transpose into these clef.
