In this advanced sight reading video we explore a two part invention from the perspective of how to sight read a more advanced piano piece, the level of sight reading is that required by many music exam boards for diploma exams. You might think that reading in two parts should be easier than reading lots of chords. Yet contrapuntal reading carries particular challenges. This is very useful. Seeing how it is done for higher level more hectic pieces. I-m beginning to see a few of these things as I scan but I-d like to know more clearly which scale I am seeing and what chord I-m in in the LH. I think it would speed up the processing of it a lot. I like your thoughts on combining both horizontal and vertical reading

This video is amazing. I did up to grade 6 piano at school. I started a bit late aged 13 and I always thought I was bad at sight reading because I started late. Your videos have really helped me improve and now I can say that sight reading is actually one of my strengths 2 years on! Keep it up :)

I tried sight reading it at the begining, must say, thats blumming difficult. wouldnt of said I would of passed that! but good to know that Im not THAT far off diploma standard SR. just need to pay more attention to chord changes and positional awareness.
