Though I dont even nearly have PPD, I do have issues with paranoia. The most draining one is being scared that people will steal my things. I always have to keep an eye on everyone near me (everyone that I dont trust, especially if theyre behind me. Ill look at their movements in shadows, reflections, side-eyes, and whatever else I can do. If its too crowded, Ill hug my belongings to my chest. Ive never even had anything stolen from me before, so I dont know how this started.
When I was younger, I went through a little phase where I was nervous that my mom would put rat poisoning in my food. I still ate, but it was always with my guard up. She loved me a lot so I dont know why I thought this.
Another one is that I think everyone secretly hates me. Well, everyone that I talk to for more than 5 minutes, excluding my mom. Not to where I think theyd hurt me, but to where Im hesitant to initiate conversation with them in fear of being annoying.
Probably the most outlandish one is fearing that my moms boyfriend placed wiretaps in the house. Im scared of this when I sing, and Im scared of this when I criticize said boyfriend to my mom.
I think I got this from my bio dad, who my mom told me suffers from paranoia himself.

The other day i was gaming with my partner and a friend and out of nowhere my friend said i had kissed them whilst i was with my partner and i was confused and overwhelmed and felt put on the spot about something i dont even remember happening and so although we sorted out the misunderstanding and they remembered that thats not what happened, i still worry days later if my partner thinks im an awful person when id never do something like that to them. Its been eating me up inside that they are both talking about me in secret and that they both think im a cheater and awful person, i wish this feeling would go away as i want to talk things out with my partner some more but also dont want to seem suspicious so ive cornered myself off and talked with them like nothing was bothering me since. the only person i have to talk about these worries is my mum. I know i need therapy but i have so much going on i fear people will gang up against me and make me look like im the worst partner in the world when all i want to do is live a happy stress free life with the one i love.

today I woke up, got ready for work and was in a great mood. When I got to work it turned out I was actually not supposed to be there as there was a mix up in schedules so I got paid for my bus fare and walked around for a little bit. I started getting extremely paranoid over the littlest things, It feels so silly now but it was actually terrifying. I was on an escalator and I thought it was going to plummet through the floor, I thought I was going to have a heart attack, I thought spiders were crawling all around me, I was scared on whether I could sit on a bench without it falling through, I thought someone was going to break into my dads car. I just felt SO paranoid and I dont know why. I have ADHD, no clue if it has something to do with that but it was legit so scary.

I dont wanna self diagnose, I cant tell if Im paranoid or just over protective. I dont let my siblings throw out the trash or go outside on their own, Im worried theyll get hurt. I dont let my sister be in the garage on her own Im scared someone will hurt herone time I didnt want my brother alone downstairs thinking someone with break in and harm him so I told him to stay with me, Ive always had this mindset that if any of my siblings die I wanna be first. So any time they have to do a task outside of the house I do it for themand our front door used to not lock thats why I made my brother stay upstairs with me
Luckily he wanted to stay upstairs so it didnt take force

I have this to the point it's uncontrollable. I don't even want to go anywhere anymore. Work is like a wasteland of thinking so out of left field that I literally thought today and still kinda do now but am slowly calming down at home that my coworkers are plotting to severely hurt or kill me. I wish I could explain this but I have no idea how. I'm diagnosed manic depressive, bipolar. I never had the issues going on with those two things. These last 3 years is when this uncontrollable paranoia started and it seems to be getting worse. I'm afraid it's gonna cost me my job and my relationship. Please help. Any words of advice or wisdom is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I seriously think I have this but I'm resistant to getting diagnosed because I'm worried that they will try and get someone to take my kids off me. Two nights ago I never got to bed until 3am. I was convinced that someone was going to break into my house. I have every trait on this but the paranoia one is by far the worst. Not being able to trust anyone, constantly thinking that people are out to get you. In the pub a few months ago, someone bought me a pint but I couldn't drink it because I didn't know them and I couldn't stop thinking about of they poisoned it. I know I need help but I'm scared to get it.

I Don't have paranoid personality disorder but I think my Mother does. Whatever it is that me and my sisters say in front of her she thinks we are trying to destroy her or put her in jail. She always walks by people and think everybody is talking badly about her or taking pictures of her, If I have my computer open she thinks I'm giving others information about her and I don't know what to do. And me having Anxiety and severe depression I don't know how to handle things like this because I know if I tell her to go get help from a professional she'll hit me so I'll just stay in my place.

What I dont get is the people talking about you behind your back. People will call you paranoid but what if you find out they were actually talking about you behind your back? Are you still paranoid? Isnt it normal to be suspicious in certain situations. Some people give off bad vibes and you almost can just tell who doesnt like you. Those people definitely arent talking good about me. Why is that paranoid thinking? Feels normal to me and Im sure plenty other people have felt this way in high school or social setting at least once before.

this is definitely an extreme version of what i have had for a while but it's a pretty good explaination. What caused me to gain this paranoia disorder for a short time was being rejected by a crush followed up by getting hacked and having to change accounts. Took a big hit to what I thought was part of who I am. I am much more assured of who I am as a person now and this video has helped me conclude that I musn't be so rash when it comes to simple interactions with people. thank you for this video!

Paranoia feels horrible. Had a dream that triggered paranoid thoughts when I woke up. What I can only assume was my fight or flight response over if my family at that moment were rabid (bloodthristy) people like those in my dream. I was ready to do whatever it took to survive. For all I knew at that moment is that me and my cat were the only ones alive and to be trusted. I hope that dream doesnt happen again, but it might. It has been Coming back at random times with weeks between them.

After seeing many videos and hearing peole with the disorder. I think I can say (not a doctor but still) that I don't suffer from this. I think it's just that life was extremely sad and hard for a very long time years. and I think I've been scarred. I feel like everything Is a threat. but I was in the professional crime world. so that explains it maybe. I was living alone since 15. and I was drafted in 2020 and experienced 2 bad situations. I think I have mild ptsd actually

My mother was diagnosed with PPD after being diagnosed with PTSD. Her younger brother was kidnapped and murdered when she was a teenager, so she's struggled with that ever since. It is very difficult to live with a person with this syndrome because, many times, they interpret our help in another way. She never has anything nice to say about her co-workers, neighbors and can't seem to have any friends.
PPD is very sad, all I want is for her to be happy.

I've got bullied in 6th grade by my ex bff and a classmate i had a crush on at the time, they made a mob and together with a 3rd of the class and then proceded to bully me for months and i had no support so i had to suffer till they got bored of hurting me and they started hurting each other, but those months left me with some horrible trust issues cuz now i always am on guard in case my colegues or the people around me plot to put me down again

Im stuck. My paranoia is basically Someones watching you. 24/7. At school, at the supermarket, in bed at 2 am. Its so bad i cant sleep without quickly checking. It sounds really childish but its horrible. Its from all angles too. Oh, your leaning against a wall? Yeah theres still someone watching you from behind. It never stops. Haha lol no guess ill just mask it like the rest of my problems and procrastinate about telling my mum. :D

I remember driving past an older man standing at a pedestrian crossing. I was having a bit of a panic cause I couldn't stop anymore and drove past, and I remember he sarcastically said to me thanks a lot!
I felt like panicking and I thought the entire way back home that I was gonna receive real bad karma from the Universe for that move.
It can even be internalized like that.

1 They suspect that others will harm them? check.
2 They doubt the trustworthiness of their friends and co-workers? Maybe.
3 They hold grudges? no.
4 They think that everything is an attack on their character? check.
5 They are suspicious about the fidelity of their partner? no.

This is just silly. If somebody spills cofee I will hate them for the rest of my life lol lady. You're taking it to the extremes. This Video is silly it's not that extreme l o l. The best thing for us is to stay away from people because Ninety nine percent of people are evil.

my latest spiral was my coworker having to correct my work today but also she put that she is looking for a new job on linked in. im deadass completely convinced is because of me and that she cant stand work because of my mistakes i genuinely cant tell if its paranoia

The thing I feel sad, that as a Paranoid person, I actually make this and make people feel bad from my actions, I feel like saying sorry to everyone now, lol.
So, I am sorry on my behalf for the problems we make.

reply

I wouldnt say i have paronoia I just feel like someone is watching me and that soemthing or someone is in the same room with me to the point that i have insomnia. (Oh and i hold grudges for up to 2 years for good reason though)
reply

The only thing I dont do is hold grudges over little things but the phrase
The paranoia wont leave you alone is too relatable you want to move past certain situations but your brain doesnt let you

I have paranoia on me and I swear, paranoia is getting really annoying.
I started developing paranoia after I had a friendship breakup.
Paranoia will always have a way to ruin my year and day.

reply

Being paranoid about stuff I ended up with psychosis. So over being paranoid, need to go on better medication to manage it. My head feels weird like a tight feeling sometimes, probably stress related
