My day depends of the day of the week
for example a normal Monday for me looks like this:
Wake up: 5: 00 am
Think of my life: 5: 05 am
Brush teeth and wash face: 5: 10 am
Change: 5: 20 am (usually already have my clothes ready since the day before)
Read: 5: 25 am (News, a book I just started, recipes, biographies, etc)
Get ready for school: 5: 50 am (Notes, pencils, highlighters, and everything else)
Turn on TV: 6: 00 am
Breakfast: 6: 05 am - 6: 30 am (Depends if I cook or just eat cereal):
Log into school: 6: 40 am
School Morning: 7: 30 am - 10: 30 am (start of first class)
Lunch: 10: 35 am - 11: 10 am
Home: 11: 20 am
Nap: 11: 30 am - 12: 30 pm
Brush teeth: 12: 35 pm
School afternoon: 12: 40 pm - 2: 30 pm
Cook or think of what to eat: 2: 30 p - 3: 00 pm
Clean: 3: 00 pm - 4: 00 pm
Actually eat dinner that I made: 4: 00 pm - 4: 30 pm (I don't know why I do this )
Wash dishes: 4: 35 pm - 4: 45 pm
Watch TV: 5: 00 pm - 8: 00 pm
Shower: 8: 00 pm - 8: 40 pm
Get the random inspiration of doing crafts: 8: 45 pm - 9: 50 pm
(Between this time I switch from crocheting to threading to gem placing to painting or just sewing)
Do homework and class work: 9: 50 - 10: 30
Wash face and brush teeth: 10: 30 - 10: 35
Read or listen to random music: 10: 35 - 10: 45
Dance in the middle of the night: 10: 45 - 11: 00
Sleep: 11: 00
Then wake up again at 5: 00 am
I don't know how I am still alive

The wonders of being an night owl can be pleasant, but also annoying. Since society is normally ran during the early hours, people are supposed to go to bed early, wake up early, spend their 10 hour days doing whatever they need, and repeat it.
I, personally, like staying up late. Reasons as to why is because it gives me more time to live throughout my days. They aren't so short as they would've been if I functioned on normal times. At night I'm able to do things I enjoy doing alone. Like watch anime, play games, create more of my artwork, listen to music, etc. Its quiet, peaceful, and it's the only time where I'm able to be by myself. Yes, sometimes I do get lonely, so I call one of my friends and we can talk all night long together.
Being a night owl can be frustrating in the sense of having to wake up early. I am the type of person to love getting sleep. But I don't get tired until 12-1am. Usually I have to wake up at 5-6am for school. With the stress of High school, 4-5 hours of sleep, and not getting home till 4, it gets really hard at times. But repeating what I have said previously, nighttime is the only time I get to myself.
It's hard having to chose if having me time, or getting a full nights rest is more important. But either way, it's not gonna change my sleep schedule.

I love that you stated that it's like the social mental and genetic part of you that makes your schedule. I am a morning person I love waking up very early 5 o'clock 4 o'clock in the morning and love waking up but when I am very stressed out I am an insomniac and I can't sleep. Ever and I get nothing done throughout the day. The sad part is that I can feel my normal morning's encouragement and motivation slipping through my fingers as I either sleep or I'm still awake because I haven't slept yet Slipping past me and I get nothing done and I feel like crusty mildering installation. But also ironically I am very artistic and some of my best paintings and written chapters for my books has happened in the middle of the night so I'm always very conflicted about my sleep schedule but I've noticed that my sleep schedule when I'm very calm and happy can fluctuate with what project I'm working on because some of my really beautiful earthy paintings wanna be painted in morning light wear some of my stories and chapters want to be discovered in the dark of the night.

I'm a severe night owl (read vampire hours, and when I have to be on a normal schedule I find myself dragging like a zombie when the sun is up, and no matter how tired I may be, when the sun goes down I perk right up. When the sun starts to come up, my eyes feel tired enough to let me go to bed. I'm more alert at night, more productive at night, happier at night. During the day, I'm dragging, miserable and irritable, even if I just woke up. I'm shunned for this. Insulted for this. I'm told I'll never fit with society (why would I want to when society treats me so horribly.
There are so many more night owls out there than society wants to recognize, yet if they did, and they adapted to include us the way we need to be, this world would be a much better place, and there would also be far fewer people with emotional issues as well (not being accepted and constantly shamed for who we are and the consequences of fighting our nature causes a lot of these issues.

I'd love to be a night owl since I feel more creative at night, but unfortunately, one of my current roommates has to get up for work at 5: 30 AM so waking him during the night up wouldn't be fair. Taking his needs into account forced me to become a morning person, I wake up at 4: 30 AM initially, and give myself another 30 minutes of lying awake in bed to let my body wake up and to think about the day ahead, and then get out of bed at 5 AM and begin my morning routine (journaling, going over to-do-list, exercising, showering, breakfast, etc, and honestly, I love being a morning person too. I like rising with the sun, not to sound poetic, I get to watch the sky go from dark to light as I get my day going, it's just nice, and it makes me feel on top of my stuff rather than sleeping in. I plan on moving out on my own this year, but I think i'll still keep to my early bird schedule since I enjoy it so much.

I'm definitely a night owl. I just function better at night and I have a hard time falling asleep at night. I usually fall asleep between 4am and 7am and wake up around 1pm - 3pm. I can wake earlier if I need to for an appointment, but then I start feeling ill after a few hours if my pattern was disrupted. I like the night better because no one calls or text me, my neighbours are all in their apartments, the people in the apartment above me isn't walking all over their apartment, the homeless in the ally aren't yelling who knows what at who knows who. It's just peaceful at night. My anxiety is better at night in most cases and it's easier for my ADD to focus. I do most of my arts and writing at night, like 90%. Sometimes I wish I was a morning lark so I could be more normal so it would be easier to make appointments. Night owls unite. but in their own homes being quiet and creative. lol.

I think naturally I am a night owl because when I am on semester break I fall asleep around like 2 or 3 am. however when I was studying actively and had a packed schedule I noticed that waking up at 4am or so doing my homework/ working on projects before lectures was much easier that to sit at them after a long day at uni.
but nowadays (for a few years now really) I feel like a woodcock as I am constantly on low battery no matter the amount of sleep or regular sleep schedule (maybe it's because of my depression I dunno. I guess my sleep preference or inner clock is dependent on my life circumstances

Im a night owl, who is currently in med school and also loves to draw/ make stories. I found Im most active at 12 in the night till 3am, but can start focusing better after 10pm. After 3am I started to get sleepy. But I can sleep 2h and then continue to study afterwards. So after exams in the afternoon I just go to sleep for 5h immediately. I passed all exam but My grades arent as good, I believe its due to me being a procrastinator, i just study about 3 days before exams

My sleep schedule is chaotic. I sleep at 2 AM, get 3-8 hours of sleep from before, I get 8-12 hours of sleep. This happens because school. I got tired at school, I cope with caffeine, I came back home, I can't sleep, I sleep at 2 AM, repeat until it gets to chaotic that my body adapted to it. Minimum sleeping time for me is 2 hours, maximum is 8 hours. I will start becoming productive at 4 PM though the school's already over at that time.

I'm morning lark, night owl and also napper. They change from time to time depending on my routine. But napper is obviously permanent. I could not go without a nap in the afternoon. Or else, my brain would be messed up and stay sleepy during the evening, which is not a good idea since I need to study in the evening
reply

Everytime I go to bed, a bunch of idea come to my mind. There are 2 ways to approach this. One is to write all of those idea in a list and leave it for morning (I always lose all those idea after I wake up. Two is to answer that question (by doing that, those idea don't vanish away in the morning.

As a Chemistry PhD student, for me the best time for reading and writting scientific pappers is from 9 pm to 3 am; the interruptions and distraction from people are at its minimum, both in the real world so as in social media, and I can focus in a way that I simply can't during daytime.
reply

Surly I am a night owl. My mom kept telling me that I should be more productive and wake up in the early morning to study but HOW can I do it when I studied till 10pm-3pm? People just don't get it. and we need more clarification about the Nappers, Afternooners, Swifts and Woodcocks.
reply

I am really not an early bird, I tried to wake up at 8 so many times but my body just can't even tho I got to bed early. I feel so much more better at night because I feel like it's my hours, whenever i got to bed earlier or I wake up at 8 am I feel weird lol.
reply

Not sure how common this is, but during the cold months Ive always been a early bird, waking up between 4-7 AM. During the hotter months however I am a night owl, and tend to fall asleep between 11 PM to 2 AM depending on the next day. Anyone else?
reply

I usually prefer to study at night. Even if I try to study in the morning I can't really focus properly and distract pretty easily I usually distract because I talk a lot. In night No one is there to talk to me so I stay focus on my assignment
reply

I feel like a lot of people have been made into 'night owls' due to screens and internet and such. I used to think I was a night owl, until I stopped sitting on my phone into the hours of the night. Turns out I'm a morning person.
reply

idk about other ppl but I have after school studying to pretty late so I end up falling asleep around 12-1pm then waking up around 6: 30 and in weekends I sleep in cause I dont get enough sleep otherwise, so I dont really know-?
reply

One thing that sucks about being a night owl is people tend to view you as lazy for not being able to make early morning things which is not fair. I do the same amount of work hours as everyone else I just don't start at 6am
reply

I'm naturally a night owl, but I'm forcing myself to be a morning lark because of work, and it works. Haha. I think having a routine is better than wandering, trying to find out what I should do while I'm awake.
reply

I'm 100% a night owl yet I still have to adapt to family and work so it's a forced morning schedule hence so many people who say I'm not a morning person just mean I would rather be asleep and do this at night.
reply

I'm an owl. At night, I feel the air around me calms down. And I can have more creative ideas. It also increases efficiency. But it's night, so stay quiet. I like to write or draw at night. And I love my time alone.
