long story:
there's a guy that's mildly obsessed with me at my school. i always catch him staring at me. he would also intrude on convos i was having. and follow me around. i'm not dating him or really friends with him, although he tried to be my friend. i have home room with him, where i used to write in my journal because the teacher gave us way too much free time. i didn't know how to handle his crush on me so i basically roasted him throughout the journal. one day while i left the class he and his friend READ MY JOURNAL. they claimed to have read only one page, but referenced a part from another page. i was super embarrassed and assumed they read the entire thing if not most. i was very worried that i hurt his feelings or got him down because he's mildly autistic. my friends all told me he deserved it. he did seem down for a weeks or two. it kept me up at night for a while too. he seems fine? he started talking to me less and less. maybe for the best.
thanks for reading my random story bestie.

I actually did have been in a obsessive online relationship (i don't online date anymore often though. And well, i realized they only liked the idea of me rather than the real me, and that they crossed my boundaries, but they did give me space, but as the relationship went on it was too much space till the point we haven't talked in a month. And the relationship didn't feel healthy for me at all, it made my mental health go bad.
We've been in a relationship for ONE year at the time, and thankfully i broke up with them. I felt bad about breaking up with them that i hurt their feelings by doing so, but it was for the best.
And i hope they can be in a healthy relationship, and won't become obsessive with the other relationship they'll be in.

4 and 5 especially reminds me of an old friend that I had. Although tbh our friendship was really one sided. It wasnt until my new current friends told me that I wasnt a bad person for feeling uncomfortable by them that I realized it was more serious than it was and that I wasnt the one with the problem. I used to think that I was the one with the problem making friends because in general I dont like people jumping right onto me Id like some time to get to know someone first. I thought that that was a problem with me being socially awkward and pushing people away.

Hello Psych2Go. I've been binging your content, and I really like what I'm finding. I only have one critique of this vid, and I find it to be a minor one. I think the title is misleading; a better one would be to the effect of 7 Signs Someone is Obsessing Over You, as that has a more negative connotation to it. Other than that, the vid's actual content and message were both informative and straightforward. Thanks!

Currently sick, I am not in a relationship, but I can obviously tell I am deeply obsessed with a peer of mine. Though, this isnt healthy at all, she seems to be my only source of motivation. I am extremely scared of rejection, and I am afraid of what Id do to myself if I was rejected. I am quite scared, but I believe I can get through this and may make this less of an obsession. Auf Wiedersehen.

Don't have any experience with this personally but it is interesting info to be aware of. I do sometimes get a little fixated when i meet someone interesting but it never goes beyond indulging curiosity. I have an exceptionally low view of people in general so the psychologist in me can't resist learning about what sets the interesting ones apart from the rest.

I have a few of these traits which are overtexting, being jealous and over texting but towards my friends. I do struggle with abandonment issues and attachment from past divorced parents trauma but Im not sure if that is a cause. This causes me to put too much effort and thought into each relationship I have which causes rifts. any advice?
reply

I have, unfortunately, been the one who was obsessed. Fortunately! I got help and conquered these behaviors.
I recommend finding a specializing therapist to help.
I also found it helped getting to actually know who your obsession IS rather than the fantasy you've built up in your head.

I need help. I am obsessed over people, I am a walking red flag. I create fake accounts to watch my ex. I created a whole new personality in secret and made it interact with my crush to know more about them.
I just want someone to like me for who I am, am I that deprived?

Im someone who obsesses over the people I have a crush on. And though it only goes as far as checking what accounts they follow or posts they like on social media, Ive found even that habit of mine to be too creepy. So, its something I have to let go

I get that feeling. I too had someone push my boundary by giving me unwanted texts every few months or so and I would be made to send back a text making me feel like a puppet. It just made me so uncomfortable when that individual crossed that line.

Yeahhh i think my relationship started off somewhat healthy then he just became Obcessed as time went by its so weird and creepy like I love how hes there for me sometimes and t the gifts he buys but I think its to cover for his emotional maturity

I've met a couple people back when I was online dating and they were obsessed with me. The first one wanted me to put her profile picture on my home screen, while the other wanted me to take selfies of myself every single day.

I was obssesed with someone too but i dont cross personal boundaries, stalk, or even talk much. but i was head over heels mad in love and too much obssesed. and it just withered me out. Better not to love anyone.

I recently self-harmed and I don't know why I did it. I have epilepsy and take a lot of medication which can cause depression, anxiety and low mood. Could you do a video on why people self-harm. Thank You
reply

Ive had people like this in my life and theyve even stalked me. It is VERY important to contact authorities if these things mentioned are taking place. Its also important to have a support system as well.
reply

Ive had a crush on 3 people in year 7, but when I found out about their true behaviour, I immediately started not crushing on them. People arent what you think they are.
reply

i think i was pretty obsessive. trust was something i struggled with and well. in the end i got cheated on anyway. trust is hard for me to give, because of things like this

Is there a video on how to differenciate between just being attracted to someone and lusting for someone? I kinda have problems to tell these two apart.
reply

I've definitely identified with some of these signs as an obsessive person thankfully i realized how bad this was and now I have more healthy friendships
reply

I watch all these videos so when I do get into a relationship I will at least be level 20 starting at a level 1 area because of my expert prior knowledge
reply

This video is the product of years of stalker jokes (I hope their jokes) in the comment sections. You can't change my mind. I'm onto you, Psych2Go
reply

This honesty feels biased against loners. Arent people more likely to be harassed and stalked by people they already know, like their parents?
reply

Thanks for telling us this
Because I finally got a Girl, she literally has this amount of signs expected for knowing me too well.

reply

I acted like this and fit way too much of the criteria. Now I see I was ruining the relationship I used to have. I appreciate this Psy
