Have you ever been hurt by fake people in the past? And now, you're trying to spot signs early on to protect yourself from them before it's too late? 1. "I've got your back": Fake people often say this to make others believe they can be trusted, but in reality, they may not support or help you when you need it. 2. "I would never talk behind your back": Fake people like to claim they are trustworthy and loyal, but they often engage in gossip and talk negatively about others when they are not around. 3. "I'm always honest": Fake people may pretend to be honest, but they often lie or manipulate the truth to benefit themselves or create a certain image. 4. "I'm so happy for you": Fake people may pretend to be happy for your successes, but deep down, they may feel jealous or envious and may not genuinely celebrate your achievements. 5. "I'm your biggest fan": Fake people may pretend to be supportive, but they often have ulterior motives and are only interested in exploiting your success for their own gain. 6. "You can trust me": Fake people often claim to be trustworthy, but in reality, they may betray your trust, share your secrets, or use confidential information against you when it suits their needs.

Agree with the first three, disagree with the last three. It seems like people nowadays search for hidden undertones where may be none. Yes, it may be more sophisticated to recognize a lie more intricate wording is used, but not every liar is a golden tongue ambassador of interests of his own, some may lie you in your face using the most simple language you've ever heard, it's not about phrasing, it's about confidence. Regular people may suffer because of such approach towards language use. Like. What is wrong with explaining yourself while apologising, letting other person know Why did/didn't you do something, instead of short sorry. Being real also has positive sides, like genuinely caring about other person, giving advice about not doing something for their good. We should hang out sometime (unless it is done the very last moment - it is okay to cancel something planned, especially if you have decent reason why you cannot, share it with other person, maybe you will rearrange or receive advice on your case. Got to say it because it seemed important, I personally suffer from being confused for an angry/bad/cringe/old/(put your suggestion here) person because I use punctuation and being ignored when I write in long sentences, even when minimal required answer is Y/N and opinion part may be omitted, like, for real, that is embarrassingly ridiculous, what is going on with people and assumptions based on the manner of how I breathe.

Um, I don't if it is related, I mean maybe it is. But when, for the first time, I was honest about my boundaries and how that 'friend's' approach made me feel, she burst into tears, making me look like I was the issue. I only told her, that I don't feel heard with her, and maybe sometimes, it seems that everything is about her, she makes her problems seem the biggest, and she is the victim. And I told her that um, everyone has their problems and the only ways to face them. Mind you, it came after five years of constantly listening to her problems, her blaming everyone but herself. For a long time, I thought I was the villain, I was compassionate, I should have been softer. But I was burnt out. My problems never mattered, my mood never mattered, I was the 'listening box', one to pour out everything on, and I empathise deeply, people's moods, stories, and vibes affect me. For the first I was honest. But soon, was being made as the villain, So, I think sometimes, people do need to be told the truth, no matter, how harsh it sounds. Was I wrong?

Fake people use me? More like I use them. I use them with their certain needs from me, straying them along, dangling them like they were a fish out of water, only giving it to them when they are absolutely desperate and begging. I m always two steps ahead, using me would be like you summoned literal death to your door
I m extremely goal oriented, so I also interact with people because I need something from them, but at least I m honest about it and everyone knows it. If you ended up trusting me, then that s your problem, I never told you to, I even specifically told you not to. I have no need to put you down to feel superior, because I m not an insecure infant that needs praising.

I ve had past trauma from fake friends. I ve been talked down and were backstabbed. I ve been emotional hurt and mentally hurt to the point of questioning if I should live. People have hurt me in the past and I keep that feeling with me. After this experience, I stopped opening my self up to friends because I didn t want them to take advantage of me. Although recently I ve found real friends, and not ones that will stab me in the back, but actual friends that care about me. Honestly, if you are going through this, run from the friendship, and if you are in a bad state of mind just remember that there are people out there, people that are actually good friends.

Blanket statements about what someone might say out of context feel disingenuous and leave little room for allowing others to be genuine. I try not to assume with people. They will show their true colors with time. Some people might say they gave your back and mean it. Depends on the context. Put things out that involve the top 10 fill in the blank are not always helpful. Learn discernment and boundaries, how to ask proper questions of others to see who they are. Communicate thoughtfully. They ll show you. The question is will we listen to our gut. Our intuition. Shady has an energy to it. Learn that.

Unfortunately, I ve dealt with fake people in the past. Sometimes when I want to hang out with them, they ignore me and go out with others. Or when they said they re going to be at a specific place in a certain day, I showed up and they never came. And especially, one of my old crushes, they said they ll be there when I want to talk to them. I tried, but they ghosted me and don t acknowledge me again. I hate when people are like that, but I realized that none of this is my fault. I know who my real friends are.

I feel like my depression and social anxiety (just super poor mental health & other person stuff) have bailed on plans I made when I felt good. I do go to work and that takes up so much energy. I genuinely love my friends and the people I wanna spend time with. But we can t hang out at my place & I have no car- it s kinda hard to get around where I live without a car. Public transit is in the city but not here lol. So this video is making me feel bad honestly because I don t mean to be flakey. :/
reply

Well the video makes it out as if being fake always has some malicious intent and leads backstabbing. But it can also be used to prevent conflict within a group, specialy when you need to fit in with pepole you dont really have much in common but need to cooperate with (be it for work or school.
Just because you pretend to be firendly doesnt automaticly mean the moment you no longer need them you will betray them or something. You might just aswell say your goodbyes and leave in civil manner.

I feel like it's a tad about me i was mostly dealing whit some inner conflict and a bit of mistreatment form others, and adressing a point, sorry i was a bit to toxic about it, im affreight to just say it in an adult manner. But yes you made a point of it could be cleaning, ill try to be better, it may be a journey overall though.
Anyway thats past me.
It doesn't fully make sence because im still a tad childish.

I ve know lots of people that would do that, back when I was in high school I had an entire friend group start, keep and spread lies about me and looking back I have no clue why I d just forgive and keep hanging with them when it was a cycle of you did blank or I heard blank but then when it was convenient for em they d be all buddy buddy like nothing happened

Both of us are Gemini's, I'm 40 all 5 of my kids same Mother. She 25 and no kids I have noticed things going on but I don't alow myself to think that I'm being miss treated / disrespected because I get angry quick and blow up on anyone so I just let them do whatever and put that in God's hands but I still like her and as far as I'm concerned we still friends
reply

Okay but the last one is extremely contextual because my senior year of highschool I was extremely depressed and it was a really hard time in my life and I WANTED to hang out with people but when the time came I couldn t and I pushed everyone away. Admittedly it was my fault. But a few of em remained and were still great friends to this day.
reply

Idk if it counts but I would consider myself masking in Public as being fake but i have Autism and i have never shown my true self to anybody besides my Mother so i don't think being fake is a bad thing sometimes it's just a coping mechanism to be safe from the judgement of others.

Psych2Go I. Have a confession to make. I'm a fake person. I always pretend to care about others but after sometime I get bored and stop talking to them. I have even spread small rumors about some people whom I didn't like. I want to Change myself. How can I change myself?
reply

It s crazy how many people are cut out of my life now compared to a couple years ago due to this exact behaviour. I ve recently started learning about these patterns and as a result, my circle has gone from a dozen or so down to two. Quality over quantity.

I had many betrayels, as i was always young in certain grades due to getting through them, letting people say there my friends, yet they weren't, as i am getting abit more mature, i am learning how to identify them
reply

I wonder if putting on a mask makes me fake. I kind of feel bad that my friends that see me is actually a facade I put on. Not a lot of people are understanding for the neurodivergent and I'm afraid to be hurt again.
reply

I'm just being real.
Maybe it depends on the context. I've seen people say that bring real is a way for them to show care. i. e. Them saying you should not get back with the ex whom you still have feelings for.
