this video come to me at the right time, right now my mother hold a birthday party for my sister, however i stay locked in my room and avoid social interactions even though my aunt come and try to persuade me to come out, the sole reason i dont want to came out is because my mother did yell at me during the preparation of the party and criticize me for the smallest reason (which ruined my mood entirely, this may be sound childish on my part and when i read my comment again, it does seems like it, but this is not the first time this has happened to me.
throughout my life, i always have been the smart kid in the family and i was happy that i could make my parents proud at me for my results, but thats it, they only see me as a smart child for they to boast around and will yell at me if i got a bad result, my sister and i have 9 years age gap but she doesnt have the same pressure from my parents like me, she get everything she want with little consequences and i have to admit, im jealous. she blame me for the thing i didnt and despite explain my perspective, i always end up in the wrong in my parents eye.
because of this i dedicate my life towards my study to the point i separate my social life just to score in my academics, i was send to boarding school so all my offline friends live far away from me, i dont even learn how to ride a bike until i was 14 as i dont have a reason to (i dont go outside much), i felt lonely and everytime im at the hostel of my boarding school, i always complaine on how i hate my life at my house, now i have finnish school, im stuck at my house waiting for my final exam grades to come out (aproximately 3 month before the s result will be announce). during this period it struck me, i dont really have any social offline relations outside my aunts and siblings, i never really have someone at my age to talked to, i depend on online friend in discord to comfort me. i want to go outside, i want to make friends, i want to interact with family (aunts and cousin) but for some odd reason
im scared

Literally relate to ALL of these points! I've been feeling quite lonely for many many months now, possibly even years. I've always been honest about how I feel, but no one seemed to really understand.
I know I lack DEEP connections and love from others, but since no-one could help, not even myself (given how toxic/unwise ppl r these days, I started working again, only to realize it was to mask my loneliness by being busy!
Even tho I've been wanting to leave again to rebuild my online friendships, where i finally felt like i belong.
I hope we ALL don't have to wait much longer to find that special someone/s. :c

I've unfortunately done all of these things. I actually have autophobia, which is the fear of loneliness or abandonment, and last year, I went through a lot of loss and trauma I wish I couldn't have. I was actually thinking of suicide, but now, I am doing so much better! I have made new friends, an amazing therapist, and have a boyfriend now, along with being more connected and able to see those I care about more. I'm honestly surprised I made it this far, but I am happy I have. But no one deserves to feel alone. Everyone deserves to have someone be there for them. :)

I believe the real reason why many of us are struggling with loneliness is not just because of technology but it’s really people making other people feel lonely. It’s about feeling like nobody wants you around, and feeling unwanted or unworthy in a society that measures everyone by how useful they are, their status, or reputation. Like how in school where all the kids want to hang with the popular kids. People rather chase clout than genuine connection, and hang with those for what they have rather than for who they are.

I started to feel lonely after the pandemic. Because it was one of my happiest times in my life.
I’m from China and during the lockdown I always hung out with my friends in the neighborhood. We were sooo happy. I had classes online in my home and I can’t quite express it, it was just a surge of nostalgia, about everything back then.
But after that. When the pandemic was over, I suddenly realized that I don’t know this world anymore. All the joy and happiness fades away, everything seems new and scary to me

I believe that because of those toxic people around us, we just get involved in social media and technology more than people. I used to hate technology and internet. But now, here I am engaged in social media, searching for help. People mostly leave me and those who didn't leave me hate me to the core. Every time a problem comes, I try to answer to myself why I did so, but it feels like I am giving some lame excuse. I feel like such a loser.

I didn’t really think I was actually lonely when I clicked on this video. I’ve got two great friends which I’ve had for half a decade, and I see them almost every day. But I also often turn to nostalgic memories, shows, games, songs, hobbies, etc, watch specific movies/shows over and over, find myself oversharing at times, constantly tired, and loss of appetite. Wake up call, honestly

Loneliness is a matter of attitude. For various reasons, for some people connecting to others is hard, even impossible. There's no relief in regarding lonely life as a prison cell. Maybe it's better to see a life in loneliness as a charming living room instead. It's not a piece of cake for everybody, but maybe your only possibility to get rid of your tearing frustration.
reply

I wouldn't say I'm lonely because I see myself as a lone wolf that's just gotten used to being alone and embracing 1000% time of solitude without the need to be seen because that gives me the opportunity to continue to push people away from me including my family respectfully because I don't want to let my guard down for anyone at this point of my life

It's difficult to connect with others; the older you get, the more isolated you get, it's my input. Some these signs are the only way people can cope. In my experience; talk to people in your community; neighbors, neighborhood store employees and pay someone a compliment. It helps me when I feel lonely and more secure with my community.
reply

However these are also symptoms of depression too; I'm not lonely but I'm broken at the moment as I recently lost my grandfather so the gaming, feeling exhausted and eating less describes me to the tee but again it's not from loneliness but the chasm of grief/depression I'm currently working through.

I don’t think I need a quiz to know. My wife left 15 years ago. Nobody since. I have some friends but nobody close. Skin hunger was gone after five years or so but the ache of no closeness is killing me. I don’t want to keep going like this. I need a miracle soon.

Lonliness is even more dire, when you are tooo disabled to get anywhere you want to be. And disability service wants to give you a chance. Just feel like opportunities or just life in general is passing you by and you cant do a thing about it but just hope for a miracle

I do feel kinda lonely when my friends and school friends ain't around. Idk if it only happens with me tho. Like usually I don't wake up to go to school. But during the holiday, I felt kinda isolated and like there was nobody to talk to. Happens with anyone
reply

The fact that I’m born joyless and filled with loneliness in my life is exactly the reason why I was made to not have dreams, learn from my own mistakes or even outliving everyone else who are younger than me, until they don’t want me around no more.

Absolutely I would love to take the quiz I have a wife and two cats and I do find my self feeling alone sometimes and I feel like my wife could benefit from this as well I just don’t know how to tell her

If Somna (I am sorry if I spelt that wrong) was the guy who animated the ending sequence, then hats off to them because I really liked his style! The color pallet and textures of the drawings felt very warm
