How All of Stockholm's Money Got Stolen by Helicopter Bandits
video description
Secondly, they never entered the lobby or the vault in the building, they smashed a window in the glass pyramid, took two ladders down to the floor where they count the incoming money, and blasted their way into that room. Thats where the security camera is, it was not in the vault, it was the cash counting room, and that was confirmed by the people inside the cash counting room and the police.
Thirdly there were no reports of gunfire but they did have an automatic weapon on them and thats shown in the security tapes - later confirmed to be fake by the robber holding it, saying to the police that it was just for show to buy more time so the police couldnt storm the building since there was a police station just a few minutes from the building.
As for the helicopter, no they didnt steal the police helicopter, they stole one from a random helicopter school, they did, however, place a bag in front of the hangar where the police kept their helicopter, but it didnt say bomb, it was according to the police a black device with electronics and bomb residue on it.
A fake bomb to keep the helicopter from lifting off buying yet more time to continue the robbery. As for the amount, its been estimated at around 39 million Swedish crowns, around 4. 5 million US with only a small amount having been recovered during the years since. And thats all I can remember of the top of my head.

Couldnt be that much money. That helicopter was near max weight with 4 guys in it. 15 million in ATM money weighs over 2000 pounds. The payload, including people, of a Bell 206 helicopter is only about 1000 pounds. Space would be an issue too. 15 million in ATM money would fill a full size Ford van to the ceiling. There is half that much space in the Bell 20. If they overloaded the helo, they likely could only steal 10 million.

The prison sentences seem unbelievably lenient. 3 to 7 years for conducting a multi-million dollar helicopter heist (with a police chopper, blowing up stuff in the city centre and bomb threats. Sure no one was hurt, but that just seems more luck than anything. A bunch of idiots tooling around with a helicopter in the city and blowing up buildings, putting caltrops on roads. someone easily could have gotten killed.

This is riddled with so many inaccuracies (especially the -bomb- bag, which I think is just completely made up, because in addition to not being true, I can't even find anywhere that it was reported like that where you might've gotten the information, reminds me of the John Mulaney line, about the New York Post: it's like talking to someone who heard the news, and now they're trying to give you the gist.

was there only one police helicopter must have been if they got away with millions while the cops were just wondering about what the heck is going on
Well if they got 7 years and 3 and 2 and 1 year for millions it was worth doing for and money hasn't been refunded back to the vault company

I don't know who needs to hear this but stop saving all your money. Venture into Investing some, if you really want financial freedom.

I reckon the Bureau raid mission in GTA5 is based off of this heist. Looks very similar although in GTA5 mission they weren-t after cash

You construct a building which is meant to secure millions of dollars and put a skylight on the roof? In what world does that happen?
