Lybia once was the social most advanced african country with the highest living standart on that continent.
Pretty obvious that a rebbelion broke out there - instigated, facilitated and militarily supported by those who
wanted a free lunch on Lybia-s resources and its national gold reserves.
In fact the -rebellion- was a poorly covered up western war of agression against one of the few ex european
colonies which truly became independent and souvereign.

West never liked Gaddafi since he was building the country, and this could be a pattern to follow by other Africans. In their mind Africans should always stay poor and this guy was working in opposite way. Libians should learn a good lesson from this and never trust the BS from west.
Wishing you a new wise leader to bring back the good old days.

No. the -Arab Spring- was an uprising instigated by the West (US, UK and France. Libya was fast becoming a prosperous country when the West's jealousy and meddiling led to the overthrow of their government and the murder of their leader. They successfully destroyed any hope for Libya. Thanks to the US, UK and France Libya is now in total chaos.
reply

Why Nations Fail, because of the US hegemony, supresing all rising nation with strong leaders with future plans, not in line with the USA. The US has become a destructive force, only starting wars they lose, leaving the countries in ruin, Libya is only one of 70 that the US has destroyed from 1947-1989!

Pumping fossil water is a recipe for ultimate disaster.
It is the very definition of a non-rewnewable resource.
This is one of the worst projects ever undertaken.
And their so-called -rivers- are in fact, quite leaky pipes. And so they won't even get to use a fair portion of the water the pump.

This is a very interesting documentary, but you REALLY need to get to the point. American documentaries all use this tiring repetition style. This is a great country with amazing people and stunning cities that deserve a MUCH better documentary

Libya has took 15% of all Egypts fresh water & now Ethiopia is taking 60% of all Egypts freshwater & if they continue to get away with this then Egypt will become a barren desert-
Stop the ethnic cleansing of Egypt by any & all africans-.

- 14: 57 Somebody has a point. Without a trial, he was executed. Even Saddam had a trial.
Not an angel by any means, however, he provided free water, school and post secondary education (anywhere in the world, arable farm land, and more.

reply

RIP Muammar Ghaddhaffi, the leader under which those projects were built and who was violently deposed as a result of foreign intervention by the US and France, leaving the country in shambles and a continuous state of civil war.
reply

The term fossil water, or paleowater, refers to underground water reservoirs that have been geologically sealed. The water contained in them cannot be replenished and may have been locked in for thousands of years
reply

Now Lybia is poor but not before.
Gedaffi a violenze regim?
Hahahahaha, go and read the wealthness of the Lybia people that time and after that we can talk about it. Ho and read some real stadtithics

reply

Thanks, USA, for everything! Especially for liberating Libya from the dictator! Even though the country has been engulfed in civil war for the past 10 years and completely destroyed, Libyans are still grateful!

Well but lybia used to be very rich, descibed as a land of plenty in the odissey, and during the carthaginian empire it was its backbone profiding a lot of men for war
reply

If you consider the water cycle in Libya area, it seems ridiculous to think we have any idea about earth climate cycles and the enormous time lines in human terms.
reply

I maybe wrong, but I'm pretty sure the US blew up the plants that make these pipes right before assassinating the president of Libya starting the -Civil war--
