China's Insane Plan to Dig a Canal Across the Balkans
video description
Once the transport links are there, you can get goods made in china far quicker and cheaper than other countries therefore they have a stranglegod on manufacturing.
If you look at the map, you can see if any african country was to start manufacturing goods they will be so well places to sell to Europe. This is what china fears most. Their distance away from the markets makes them vulnerable. US could be served by manufacturers in mexico and Europe can be served by manufacturers in Africa.

Danube canal isn't that large & deep all the way through Europe, also ditching a canal through aegean sea would create another unfathomable tension between USA & China, it's strategically impossible. Also the part of Danube river opens to black sea is quite wide & deep, it gets narrower and drier along the way, adding insult to injury Danube river is a source of tap water in some European countries and so it faces draught in hot summer days, not to mention those -heat waves-.

European people want less china made product and more European made product, and that trend will get bigger by the year. Cheap china products aren't that cheap if you buy yourself jobless. And shipping all those simple products that can also produced local across the globe is madness, bad for environment, that is the old way, we need to reform the world trade. China must generate there own internal market and reduce the export and increase internal demand.

You forgot to mention the fact that the BRI is nothing but a loan sharking scheme for China to steal assets from countries it loans money too. They require the countries they loan money to use Chinese firms who build tofu-dreg structures and embezzle the funds. China then says pay back the loan despite the fact the project was never completed properly. Ask Sri-Lanka how well BRI worked out for them.

Disliked for the atrocious mistake in displaying the location of the Danube. It serves as a border between Romania and Bulgaria, the lines on the map are visible. YET you placed the river way too south where the longest mountain in the Balkans is.
I've seen similar blatant mistakes on other videos for African countries too. Get a better editing process.

I don't see any way of how that project could be achievable! Even if all states across the canal would come on a construction agreement, we are talking about huge mountainous regions and small, narrow and swallow rivers that get dry during summer! I don't know any construction study being realistic or any technological trick being achievable!

I'm sorry but ships are in no way more environmentally friendly. A train will always be the better way for the invoronment. Oversea ships are so damn dirty most times they are not allowed to enter a port on their own power since they are no longer in open and free waters. Also ships use one of the worst fuel there is.

How does all this shelling out money to other countries play with China's population decline? China as of 2023 has fallen below India in total numbers and will continue to decline to below 1 billion by 2050 to 2090. This will put a dent in their investments with an aging population.

China has Million and Millions of Bullish Workers with about 1. 5 Billions Population.
They build anything including the Great Wall and Dams which is visible from Space. The Chinese is afraid of hunger or no food but is not afraid of hard laborious works.

When this bs about China building canals will stop. China already building Nicaragua canal more like 10 years. With my knowledge they don't move a lot forward. Maybe before talking about another Chinese projects must show up progress on Nicaragua project?

Like damn half this map is highlighted wrong. Serbia is way off and Belgrade is made to be in eastern part of it, while the danube is so wrong it goes straight trough bulgaria.
It seems who ever edited this made everything a bit down than it should be

-I see a very large problem with this plan. The Morava is too small and shallow for larger ships to pass, especially during the summer, so even if you widen and deepen it there simply would not be enough water to fill it. -

Why would Turkey care? They can-t tax people going through the Bosporus and it mostly just causes frustration for Istanbul (traffic and the dangers of transporting explosives, weapons, etc)

I'd be sooooo happy if this happened, but honestly, it's highely likely that Turkey would start a war rather than to lose exclusive power as gatekeeper for blacksea, and danube trade route

I actually find it REALLY hard to believe saving 900 kilometer in ocean travel is actually worth the cost of making a canal.
