Humanity is able to shape its destiny however it wishes.
But, similar to the powers of old, such as the feodal kindoms of europe, there are specific intrests that drive everyone, some just have more power to excert their drive upon others, regardless if it's beneficial, or detrimental to them.
The only difference is, now the powers we are talking about have the capacity and ability to destroy the fragile life on this earth.
But, there is hope.
Take the feodal kindoms again. Could they have solved climate change?
No, because they lacked the capacity, and as well the systems. It would've been unsolvable for them, their own contradictions wouldn't had let them.
Modern society fixed the problems of the old, whilist preserving some, as it seemed fit. But there are still contradictions, contradictions that make it unstable, that disable it from fixing its own problems.
It's time to move the clock of history forwards once again. If not just for the betterment of humanity, then at the very least for the continued survival and prosperity of our species.

I've thought about this many times but, We're probably not gonna be alive in 2200, everyone is gonna die this century and we are gonna witness our loved ones die. Im gonna grow up, get a job, work to get money, have a girlfriend, get married, have kids, and work some more until im about 60 and some country is gonna trigger a world war and everything I've worked for, everything I loved, all of the people I knew, will dissapear and humans will go extinct

ISHOWRAPE, this video changed my life. My entire view of everything that exists in this world, in fact, even in the entire universe. I can never look at anything I know the same way again. This stream represents emotions that most humans could never understand. But I can. Thanks to this stream I was awakened to many things previously considered unimaginable. Thank you for this exquisite stream, I will never forget this experience

That ending was a bit anticlimactic I was thinking that the alien ship was just about to shoot earth with a laserbeam as she said ''in our hands'' as the aliens quickly decide that the humans pose so many threats that they can be clasified as hostile

The threat from human conflict is the most dangerous, which can occur at any time. The rest of the threats are just a part of nature, and we can't control them. I love peace and everything there is on this earth.

While yes, we can destroy civilization. Wiping out humanity would be nearly impossible. We were down to just 20, 000 humans at one point during an ice age and rebounded.

If it isn't perfectly aligned with human values. I think humanity is not perfectly aligned with human values, no wonder AI is having a hard time getting there.

Climate is not existential it will have major effects but it won t come close to making humans extinct. Besides we are already solving it.

It's quite unfortunate that this limbic system we have that helped us survive for millenia may be what could lead us to our extinction.
