To say prohibition had not brought the improvements it promised is only half true. While it contributed to organized crime, alchohol prices went up and the drinks were watered down because of the difficulty of obtaining it. During prohibition both domestic abuse and automobile fatalities decreased, and the ammendment was repealed in order to get us out of the depression, not because of it's ineffectiveness.

ok guys, so i'm in a pretty religious country which means alcohol is a sensitive issue. only certain people are banned from alcohol beverages for religious purposes. however, there is always a debate over it especially from the conservatives. i'd like to hear your thoughts in details whether banning alcohol is aactually a good idea or not.
