One of the biggest lies is history was that the Jews were slaves in Egypt. They were never enslaved by the Egyptians. When the Jews lived there, the Egyptians taxed them, and forced them to work on their projects. Eventually, the longer the Jews stayed, the stronger the Egyptians hold became and eventually they left. It says in Exodus that the Hebrews left 'armed' from the Lands of Egypt. I don't know many rulers who would let their slaves be armed. The men who built the pyramids and monuments were not slaves, they were respected laborers who were paid for their worked and were buried next to the monuments they helped create.

As one of the Egyptians who has another pharaoh currently ruling us "Al-Sisi", this seems like we never learn from history.
Al-Sisi, did propaganda projects, faked victories, etc. while not even succeeding like Ramses II.
However, some of us still thinks he is a good dictator.

Why hasn't anyone on Ted-Ed did a History vs. video on the first emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang. He was a pretty controversial figure back in ancient times, and his tomb is still untouched. I believe there bad and good achievements that should have folks interested in.

If I'm not mistaken hittites also recorded the battle of Kadesh as their own victory, so who is to say who (if any) between them and Ramesses II was telling the truth

I don’t doubt that a lot of what we know about him could be his own propaganda, it was pretty much the norm for pharaohs to do that.
