Poseidon is going to have a hard time asserting his claim. For one, he lacks the military might to do so. Plus, there are international rules about exclusive economic zones! He can't just go around trying to assert sovereignty over water that has already been allocated to a nation!
Even if he could claim the ocean, all the stuff that traverses over the ocean is his, at most he'd be entitled to a cut.
I'm also questioning if Poseidon has the political capital to sell the ocean. doubt any of the animals go along with that. If anything they probably want less economic activity taking place not more monetization!
Hades was smart to rule the underworld, prime real estate that has perpetual increases in demand=$$$

Why sell the ocean for retirement Just put up a small fraction of the ocean as collateral for a low interest rate margin loan with goldman sachs and live off the loan. By the time you have to pay off the loan, the ocean's value will likely have appreciated more than the interest he paid

Hey better quality some thing is when it dies or more value it has accumulated, the more Hades gains when it joins his kingdom. And everyone and everything eventually joins it naturally. He can wait. (He is a cool older brother though) Cool video.

Posideon was the god of the underworld and earthquakes in Mycanean Greece. Being the god of the ocean was a minor part of his domain and characterization. He was also in charge, not Zeus (who was a much smaller god, and Hades didn't exist.

The quick solution would have been abdicating to let his eldest legitimate son, Triton, to inherit the throne. If not, even a flying horse and a one-eyed brute would claim ownership of the ocean.

Potential abuse of statistics there. Also remember to critically check their estimation, you never know what ridiculous assumptions they make just to arrive at certain outrageous numbers.

3: 43: 07 Let’s only take a moment to appreciate how much hours and work she put in this vid
It's unbelievable, and I think they deserve a lot more than that

I hate this capitalist urge to understand everything in monetary terms, but if this gets the billionaires and such to see the value of nature, I will swallow it whole.

(Shouldn't Hades, as god of the underground and therefore all minerals and therefore money, be the accountant Or of not him, then Hermes as god of change)

One of the most important, yet least talked about, arguments for conservation is that in many cases it is the better option financially speaking.
