My mom said her co-worker got Salmonella and parasites from something that was raw she ate, and it caused her to have extreme diarrhea, constant vomiting & nausea, pale skin, and bloody stool. Then after she had it for 2 or 3 weeks her grandson had it and his symptoms was worst! He had extreme diarrhea, constant vomiting, tremors and shakes, pale skin, he couldn't eat or talk, he couldn't sleep, and it caused him sharp pains all over his body where he couldn't get out of bed by himself. The doctor also said pin worms were all in his stomach and they had to give him a detox to kill the worms. This is why it's important to cook all food eggs, cookie dough, seafood, beef, and chicken properly not with blood running out of it, also sterilize cutting boards, and wash your hands!

I have had salmonella poisoning due to food contamination. It feels like severe pain in the abdomen, it's almost like appendicitis where the pain happens at. The reason I went to the hospital is because I was afraid I had appendicitis. A friend of mine also got salmonella poisoning and suffered septic shock because it got into their bloodstream and eventually it lead up to multiple conditions and eventually led up to lupus. It's all kinds of horrible, cook your food and watch for food recalls.

Idk if it depends on the person but I had salmonella once as a child.
It took a real while to get serious, it started as a strong cold or flu with vomits that got worse over the span of a week or 2, I wasn't treated on time because the health system of my country said i was just pretending to avoid school.
Eventually I was sent to the hospital for 3 days and got better afterwards.
It is dangerous but I guess it's not that bad if you get treated quickly.

04: 10 & 04: 31 - Many countries other than the US have mandatory salmonella vaccination for egg-laying hens and so consumption of raw eggs by consumers is not a salmonella transmission risk. Amazed that this isn't mentioned at all as it's the main reason there have been virtually no documented cases of salmonella contraction from eating raw eggs there.
(For untreated/uncooked cookie dough, however, the raw flour still is a risk for various bacterial pathogens)

It's not that dangerous until you put 10's of thousands of chickens or more in the same place. The chickens in your back yard, probably won't ever catch it. And even if you are exposed, diarrhea isn't a life threatening illness anymore. So you'll probably be fine after 24 hours of close proximity to a toilet. Industrial food production creates these disease vectors and pays for bad science to distort reality about them. The video is mostly propaganda.

How come its so dangerous everywhere, but not there.
Incomplete video, lacking a lot of information. How some people develop salmonella while others dont, eating the same food
If we take that approach, we can investigate what makes them different. And instead od constantly being afraid of life around us maybe we can work on our immune system.

I don't get that I've eaten cookie dough with fresh eggs, and I didn't get Salmonella poisoning.
I've seen people drink just raw eggs. They don't get Salmonella poisoning.
That you can eat raw eggs, but you don't always get Salmonella. It's not 100% if you eat raw eggs you will get Salmonella poisoning. Why is that (I think most store bought eggs are cleaned during processing)

Raw cookie dough might taste like heaven, but it’s basically a sneaky little trap. Those eggs and flour are like tiny villainsSalmonella and E. colijust waiting to crash your stomach party. Eat it, and you might get a sugar rush followed by a very unpleasant trip to the bathroom. Moral of the story: cookie dough is delicious, but your gut isn’t a fan of surprise guests.

Salmonella is not really a big problem in South East Asian nation.
because Vinegar is part of their food Staple. most of their soup has vinegars. some use it on their sauce.
the vinegar helps kill bacteria. this one reason why you see a lot of vinegar in street food specially in Philippines. BBQ here dip it on Vinegar. balut Vinegar, Soup here Vinegar.

the disease reptile/amphibian communities always warn ahead of, yet the likelihood of infection is higher in food consumption or straight-up eating faeces
like idk why but i think handling _all_ animals, and pretty much all living beings (plants included) carry as much as salmonella risk. always wash our hands after touching things

fun fact!
all this would've never happened if american egg processors never washed off the protective natural coating on the egg, since all eggs laid around the world come with this coating. Only american egg processors do this, that's why salmonella outbreaks mostly appear in american store bought eggs

Genuinely though, I've been baking cookies and cupcakes my entire life, I always lick the bowl, I always eat raw cookie dough (and not small amounts) and I have never had any of these symptoms, is it different in the UK Do we have stricter hygiene laws Have I been incredibly lucky I would love an answer.

i went my whole life being able to sneak bites and licks of the spoon of cookie dough or cake batter. until last year when i was making sugar cookies, had like two bites of leftover dough and had absolutely terrible food poisoning literally an hour later. it was delicious though, so tbh i don't regret it.

It depends heavily on the quality of your countries food hygiene standards. In Japan they eat raw eggs all the time, and it's also not uncommon in parts of Europe. In the US it's far more common for chickens to be contaminated with salmonella because they usually live in squalid conditions.

As long as your cookie dough has a lot of sugar in it, which is antimicrobial you should be fine. Also cooking eggs and chicken meat completely will also kill the bacteria. This is why the hundreds of millions of people who eat chicken products in the U. S. A don't get Salmonella.

i guess i’m super lucky because i almost always end up eating a little cookie dough whenever i make any cookies and somehow i’ve never once gotten sick from it. my dad had a really bad case of salmonella when he was a kid though but it wasn’t from any cookie dough.
