Cats hide for safety, or when they believe theyre dying.
My boyfriends cat went missing one day, they looked around and found her hiding in I think the bathroom cupboard, before this was another incident where she was hiding in a room. She clearly was dying other than the fact she hid so they took her out back and put her down. They laid her to rest next to their other dead pets. She had a quick painless death. I didnt know her that well, but from the few times I saw her she was skin and bones. Shed gotten really sick and lost a bunch of weight, they thought she was recovering but she wasnt; they didnt starve nor abuse her! The last time I saw her I told my boyfriend something was very wrong, she was way too skinny and just looked bad (shed stopped grooming herself so her fur was all over the place, just odd looking idk, it just looked like she hadnt groomed herself in a long while. I told him I sadly didnt think she was gonna make it, he sadly agreed. They all had so much faith in her till that day when it hit them. This is a case of hide from humans to die in peace. Maybe cats do this as to not hurt their loved ones? Or to lure predators away from their loved ones as dying near them would endanger them.

My cat would eat a lizard's tail and get drunk somehow. It could jump up to the ceiling of the house and catch a flying sparrow when not drunk, but couldn't climb the stairs meanwhile. Cats are strange. They convince family members that they are innocent but they plan for world domination. They are successful so far.
