In my favorite book, _American Gods, _ Shadow Moon meets Anubis. Anubis talks about the weighing-the-heart-against-a-feather thing, and Shadow asks whether people could actually pass the test. Anubis says Usually; we used a heavy feather.
Much later in the book Shadow comes down with a mild case of death, and meets Anubis again. The simple test is written to be quite suspenseful without being drawn out. The key phrase is this: Anubis had a heavy feather, but Shadow had a heavy heart.

All mighty protector of the sun and sky. I beg of thee, please heed my cry. Transform thyself from orb of light and bring me victory in this fight. I beseech thee, grace our humble game but first I shall call out thy name: Winged Dragon Of Ra

I find it funny in a way that the subsequent religions such as Christianity are so obviously based on this. It's no coincidence, especially when you read Revelation and they talk about the lake of fire and the 7 headed dragon with 10 horns.

Ammit doesnt devour your soul forever, the soul is brought into a new human body to live a life that can gravitate towards a more righteous opportunity. The soul is immortal not mortal so it has countless opportunities to correct the wrongs

Heart, the seat of emotion, memory and intelligence
Ani, in the afterlife: Me no remember who me am and me don't care
Osiris: me dammit, they still don't get it, they should not remove the brain.

If only Ani would have just said that he never used any cheats in GTASan Andreas, I think all the gods, godess of truth and the creatures would have allowed him to return to his life

So why is no one actually curious on whether this is true and actually plans on trying it by begging the God of the afterlife to give him a second chance to live and tell the tale?

Wait. If Ani wrote the Book of the dead to get to afterlife, then how was he able to see his parents? How did his parents go to the afterlife?

Life mustve been real good in ancient egypt for the egyptians to come up with such intricate mythology of essentially living forever happily.
