I used to really like Maths and found it very easy till 12th grade. Although I was weak in the other subjects, I used to score the highest in maths in my class.
But when I did my bachelors in math, I no longer found it easy. Maths till high school is completely different from maths in college. I realised it requires a lot of practice.
A piece of advice for all those who hate maths but want to do better in the subject will be
1)try to understand the basics first.
If you don't understand the basics, you won't be able to work out with complex problems. Also there are a lot of math videos available in youtube nowadays. They are really helpful.
2) Practice
You can't read maths. You need pen and paper. You need to practice a lot. Only then will you develop speed and be able to manage your time in tests.
Maths is indeed a time consuming subject. And know what it's ok if you are not able to understand in math class. Because that happens to me too and even to maths toppers in my college.
So after class we would run after our lecturers and ask them to explain again. Take your time. Put in a lot of effort. You gotta work harder.

Then you got me with severe dyscalculia so math is almost impossible. Literally everything but addition and subtraction stumps me, it's like I hit a wall that will never be broken. I can tell the time, but always confuse my right and left. I also have horrendous reaction time and terrible memory. I remember just absolutely crumbling in tears whenever I was asked to go to the board back in elementary and high school because I literally just couldn't do the math and was always extremely far behind everybody else. My sister always helped me though because me and her are the same age and inseparable.

I'm not really good at math. No matter how hard i push myself from studying, still, i can't concentrate. Now I'm having a difficult time choosing a course in college especially the mindset of the people here where you'll become successful if you're an Engineer or a Doctor. This really puts a lot of pressure on me because in my country you'll get a decent job if you're a graduate of engineering or maybe accountancy while some other courses would prolly end you up in a different job.
Job mismatch is a serious problem in my country.

Awesome stuff! If anyone needs a math tutor of any grade level up to undergraduate mathematics reply to this comment. Algebra. Geometry. Statistics. Calculus. Fourier Series. Trigonometry. SAT/ACT test prep. etc. While in high school I volunteered at a nearby community college tutoring college students. Now that I am a math major in college I was promoted to Head math tutor and I give advice to other tutors to help improve the learning experience for both the student and tutor.

Actually, to me math is hard not because of the content, but because the exam-style questions are completely different to the text-book ones. They want you to find the formula instead of giving it which just takes a while longer to do. That scares me because we have have a time limit in an exam right?
PS: I am about to finish learning trig and am about to learn calculus next month, is it going to be hard? Please comment below if you found it hard or easy! :)

For all of my school years i had F's for Math, and was too nervous to raise my hand up, everytime when i would try my best to understand i would immediately forget, and I've witnessed kids calling other kids idiotic for not understanding too and i got second-hand ashamed. There was a time where i was sitting next to a girl and she cried because she didn't know how to do the problems.

My math teacher literally puts too much pressure in me, and also my classmates. Forcing us to write notes in our notebooks and even staying back after school when we forgot to do my homework. Like seriously, he hates tuition and says its not allowed. He also says that assignment books are not allowed too. Now how am I gonna pass my math exam which is 2 months away?

I was always so bad in math at high school that i haven't never reach 6 (in Italy this is the minimum good score. So i decided that i must do something about and i start my university carreer on mechanical engineering. For me, the only way to excell is put ourself in uncofortable zone to overcome lacks.

Math made me so anxious all up until the end of high school. I could never understand no matter how many times it was explained and was always behind but still ended up in honors math which made it even worse. I just tried to cheat my way through it. It's the only thing that held me back a lot.
