Meditation is also a way of turning off your body and brain. but staying awake inside and reconnect back to your original state/ position as the Eternal Inner Witness which is prior to all created things. including your own body and it's bio-computer brain machine that creates the artificial you. or Ego ( Ego = the sum total of all the stored info and sensations in your bio-computer brain.
Dont be a machine. break free and return to your true state as Eternal Spirit.

I'm really glad that this there's lots of stuff we can't explain, but who cares? just accept it mentality didn't spread to the western world, otherwise we wouldn't have modern science.
EDIT: okay rereading this it sounds like I'm cultural posturing, but I'd like to clarify that that's not what I'm trying to do. The idea I'm trying to communicate here isn't I'm better than you because I'm European, nyeeh! It's the reason we understand the world around us so much better than we did 1, 000 years ago is precisely because we _wanted_ to understand the world around us. The only reason we have electrical devices is because people wanted to understand lightning.

this guy seems confused about the purpose of koans, what they are meant to 'do. ' these are very confused 'explanations'/'interpretations. ' plus, he fell into the trap that he said wasn't meant to fallen into: needing an explanation. in any case, he has missed completely what they are actually meant to do for the human mind system's common limitations.
