Whether shes describing bickering families, quiet declarations of love, or juicy gossip, Jane Austens writing often feels as though it was written just for you. Her dry wit and cheeky playfulness informs her heroines, whose conversational tone welcomes readers with a conspiratorial wink. Iseult Gillespie explores the sly societal satire and unique tongue-in-cheek humor of Jane Austen. Lesson by Iseult Gillespie, directed by Compote Collective

Jane Austin is probably one of my cliche favorite writers, but what can I say? When you can quote a good deal of Pride and Prejudice and annoy your friends with lovely snippets of literature, then it kind of goes without saying.

i love how ur not afraid to quote Mary Crawford: D Jane Austen may have written her to be the antagonist, but man she would have made a good heroine.

I had an extract of pride and prejudice in 8th grade, in which the Elizabeth and her sisters go to choose their husband who turns out to be ill behaved.

I never forgot the shock of finding out that Bridget Jones Diary was based on Pride and Prejudice- proves how adaptable and versatile Austins writing is
