Language is endlessly variable. Each of us can come up with an infinite number of sentences in our native language, and were able to do so from an early age almost as soon as we start to communicate in sentences. How is this possible? In the early 1950s, Noam Chomsky proposed a theory that the key to this versatility was grammar. Cameron Morin details Chomsky's theory of universal grammar. Wow guys, the level of production of this video is through the roof.
The sound is so dynamic and crisp.
The music has a cool vibe that flows really nice with the presentation.
The animation has a very interesting idea and attention to detail.
Bravo!

Too many animations in this video, they are kind of distracting. Had to rewind a couple of times just to understand what was said.
Also, in the end, I understand that there is nothing that all languages have in common. Did I understand that correctly?

Language is governed by 5 matrix) as far as I can remember but its structure is fixed which is SVO. This can vary to which language but each sentence will have a subject, verb and object.

now the question is does the coughing sound to say hey, look here or the vomiting sound to express I did not like it considered to be language? then surely they are common between languages.
reply

I really do not like the background music and soundeffects. They are really loud and make it difficult to listen to you. If it'd be less loud, it'd be fine.

umm just to be clear hindustani is not a language, India is a land of thousand languages the national language is Hindi but there is no language called indian

This video should be called: whatever thesis Chomsky came up with was wrong and we are not much wiser, either. Waste of time this video. Sorry.

This is one of the first TedEd video to make me tired. The animation was so complex and transitioning from 80's comics to 90's computers.
