How can trees help in the fight against climate change? Dig into the efforts to rebuild damaged ecosystems and reduce carbon emissions. Today humanity produces more than 1, 400 tons of carbon every minute. To combat climate change, we need to reduce fossil fuel emissions, and draw down excess CO2 to restore the balance of greenhouse gases. Like all plants, trees consume atmospheric carbon through photosynthesis. So what can trees do to help in this fight? Jean-Fran ois Bastin digs into the efforts to restore depleted ecosystems

Havent even watched the video yet, but no, we cant design a city properly so no way we can design a forest. The design of a forest has to come from within itself, it is utmost human hubris to assume we know better than millions of years of evolution.
Edit: Ahh great that seems to be the point of the vid carry on ted: p

Its sad to see that there are literally don; t believe in climate change and the governments are staying mostly quiet on this topic. This is OUR planet. This is OUR future and if we dont do anything to change it, it's gonna have dire consequences.

Wait. then whats the answer? If planting too much trees and not planting at all, both can effect the climate and eco system, then we have to plant sufficient trees not more not less.
How much is sufficient?

Plants absorb the carbon that we exhale while we inhale the oxygen that plants release in order to live. what a circle of life, indeed.

What we are doing to the forests of the world is but a mirror reflection of what we are doing to ourselves and to one another.
