Explore the technique known as the Socratic Method, which uses questions to examine a person s values, principles, and beliefs. Socrates, one of the founding fathers of Western philosophical thought, was on trial. Many believed he was an enemy of the state, accusing the philosopher of corrupting the youth and refusing to recognize their gods. But Socrates wasn t feared for claiming to have all the answers, but rather, for asking too many questions. Erick Wilberding digs into the technique known as the Socratic Method. William,: Athens at the time of Sokrates's execution was an example of democracy in it's final stage: an authoritarian oligarchy. The masses were weaponized by a group of politicians who banded together to carry the bulk of the political clout and manipulated the people. The popular Sokrates was speaking out against democracy in this state, which threatened their power.

Actually according to all of the findings Xenophon and Plato pictured two different pictures of Socrates after his death, so it is not actually clear, other than engaging people of Athens in using their brains forcthinking, what was the Socrates' method and his beliefs. so maybe jist a tad more true and less fictional facts, ok?

Cool! However, I think that everyone will get annoyed if we keep asking question after question. But I also knkw that Ted ed won't get annoyed if we ask questions.
Edit: we don't need to ask ted the questions. the answers come available as if ted can read our minds! Thanks a lot Ted.

You don't have to consider yourself intelligent/unintelligent to realise that answering each question with a question is going to make most people angry and confused.
But if you think that Philosophy can be answered with a yes or no, you definitely need a good dose of Ted-ED.

I love doing this I m my free time funny enough
Just find a video that doesn t agree with your opinion and watch, listen, understand it, and then debunk it explain why it s wrong instead of just rejecting it right away
Really fun if you have free time

So what do I do to become such a person. I'm already interested in philosophy but feel that I don't really have the right means of questioning people. Any people have good video's, books or other material that I could study?

There are people that question. Most of them will be found imprisoned or put into trial because they make governments feel insecure. In many countries questioning people's biases gets you similar treatment as Socrates got.

The Ego is threatened by questions it does not know, so it attacks the messenger. Enough bruised Egos and a Witch Hunt will be called out for. Because the only way to settle an Ego is to destroy what threatens it.

I think there was a tale/story about a king who appointed his rival so he could see his failures and weaknesses better. His rival would seek out weaknesses in his ideas or actions so the king could correct them.
