It's quite the imagination these old historians had lol. How they idealize things. The Roman Emperors believed they were from north africa by way of ancient bloodlines. Why on earth would they be rude to them? You realize they made Nubia pay NO TAX. While all other provinces were being taxed they did not do this to those people. Ceasar is an African word meaning Elephant. Augustus the first emperor fled to africa then made the 3rd legio his personal legion. He spared the people in the south even after raids.
If people tell you Romans disliked black people ask yourself why every roman painting except the mysterious pompeii murals all look like black people. Augustus was said to be dark. So was Julius Ceasar. These people went to war with Gaul and hated the UK most of any province. UK was the last province incorporated and they claimed your people. uk, lived in swamps to stay warm without your lack of clothing. direct quote.

Documentary fairly solid. But if this is posted also as an advertisement for your Timeline streaming venue, a documentary completely shorn of credits is not the way to do it. Shame on you.
(And that's not even getting into the shoddy captioning)

This is wrong, you are confusing Publius Ventidius Bassus with who was the first Roman general to defeat the Parthians.
Vespasian was from a provincial military family. It is necessary to inquire before making a video, read Wikipedia!

What his family did to Jerusalem was a war crime. And the Colosseum is really a monument to suffering and sadism where humans and animals were murdered and tortured. Let's try and see things the way they were.

19: 38 Corn was not ground night and day. Corn is a New World staple. I'm guessing you're using the old meaning of the word corn which is utterly ridiculous.

How sad that the graves of those people from way back then are just left to be pillaged and destroyed and their bodies just scattered and left to the elements.

They said the Roman poor ground corn. Corn? In Rome? Ummm Check your sources. Pretty weak. Also way to downplay Vespasian in Judea. Unforgivable mistakes

I wonder if this is why America is not allowed to keep an active duty Army on American soil, yet we keep it everywhere else. Frightening parallels here.

My favorite Roman Emperor. From the lowest ranks to the Emperor. From Britain to Judea.
p. s. Enthony Hopkins would be good as Vespasian.

At about 19 minutes in, the video mentions grinding corn. Corn was from the New World, not discovered until 1492. Mostly likely wheat was ground.

19: 33 corn, most of it imported. Really, from the Americas? I would have thought it would be wheat or other cereals like barley or other.

Mistake about 20 minutes in - corn was not introduced to Europe until 1493. While that mill would have fed Romans, it wasn't milling corn.
