Simo likely killed alot more. As in MANY more. At the time a kill wasnt counted a kill unless you could put a foot on it. Simo wouldnt have counted a kill, unless he was absolutely certain he had a kill.
But he wasnt the only legend of his time. Lauri Thorni/Larry Thorne was the first finnish member of the US Special forces, and is a legend to this day in the unit. He was even written about in Robin Moores book The Green Berets where he goes under a different name, but its long since been verified that Lauri was the finnish special forces guy who Moore wrote about.
These two men have cemented the Finnish reputation for being not only great soldiers, but amongst the best in any mans army.

This can't be true I was talking to a old man down the pub the other day who was telling me he was ex special forces sniper and killed 2, 000 people during the Falklands war although he said unofficially as officially only 650 Argentine soldiers died in the entire conflict. This documentary needs updating

modern snipers: uses only the top notch scopes that contains mutliple type of sights
Simo: eyo watch me dome this dude with my eyes closed
also love that he basically just went full on tackleberry and brought his own gun, truly a badass

did this guy inspire the main character from Enemy at the Gates? so many similarities. yes it was a completely different setting but watch the movie and tell me you don't see inspiration from this guy as a sniper

The WW 1, German ace the Red Baron said. the killing of a man even in war is still murder. Hayha, has much blood on his hands to give an account for on The Day of Reckoning. I wouldn't want to be him.

not entirely correct he used different weapons including mines and machine guns. Basically he was most effective killer. Every one after him compare to use a single weapon most likely sniper rifle

I believe there's a sniper today who's killed more. Maybe even one for each top country. Just the governments of these said countries, don't want their assassins to be revealed.

What they didn't tell you is that one time he was bit by a diamondback snake and after 9 days of agonizing pain the snake died.

Take a strong mind to justify that count to yourself in your own conscience, one of the few things which cant be undone.

This guy was a SREIOUS BADASS. 15 years with the weapon in civilian life made that rifle an extension of himself.

what an amazing man. How is it this is the first time I am hearing about him? oh I guess its the USA school system
reply

Really? Who worships a dude that killed so many soldiers who thought they would make it back to their family
