I've read the book at least twice. Each time I did, it made me think of days of my youth when I would sail my little, 11 foot boat all around the lake where I lived. When I was a 9-year-old boy, I always imagined I was out at sea all by myself and struggling to survive by myself and find my way home again. (The lake I sailed on was only 2. 5 miles long, 3/4 miles across. but it had many interesting coves and other places where I could hide with my boat) I would sometimes 'loose the wind' and have to swim along, pulling my boat behind me until I got out of the shade of the large oak trees. There was another place; the water was shallow enough that I could hop out, drop the sail, then remove the 13 foot mast. I would lay everything flat then slide my little boat and I through a tunnel under a road. -- This took me to a second lake! (It was much smaller than the first but it was still fun to explore there) I'd be gone for half a day. If the wind was strong, I covered many miles in that with my little boat. :-)

Crazy Story! In 2016 My family went on our first cruise ship and of course my dumbass brother fell 120 Ft off the side of the ship at 5am. Thank God he was able to tread water and 4 hours later a dad would spot him from another cruise ship 6 hours outside of Cozumel Mexico. honestly insane he is still alive but we're grateful he is.

Not bein rude but you got so many of the facts of his events wrong in this video so for future videos do your research better he literally talks about every situation you spoke of but he tells them completely different all you had to do was literally watch a few videos of him telling his story

Wow you skipped some of the best parts. How his hatch closed and he got trapped in his sinking boat and nearly drowned while retrieving items, how he got the Solar water purifiers to work, how his harpoon broke and had to catch fish wish a spear, etc.

How do you know it was a whale? I dont remember him saying it was a whale that sunk him.
I kept listening and quite a few problems with facts.
Also you keep showing a Yellow Tail when you say Dorado.
Overall facts are correct though

There's only two things I would do if I were stranded in the ocean. for 76 days. Panic and Die.
I read this book when I was in the navy and I've been looking for this story for at least a couple of decades. I FINALLY FOUND IT!

I did commercial fishing in the Bering Sea and just 30 days WITH fishing gear, my skin peeled off when I got home.
Everything was peeling but obviously it was fine. It was waking up and working in my sleep that sucked

People with DID usually got it from traumatic event from past. It isn't a curse but usually our mind's safety function to keep our psyche safe. It's no wonder in situation like this he gets DID kind of thing.
