On September 2, 1666, 80% of medieval London burned to the ground in the largest fire in the city's history. The fire raged for more than three days, consuming huge swaths of the city, but the Great Fire of London story often leaves out what happened after the fire. What happened to London after the Great Fire destroyed over 13, 000 buildings? The country was amid war with the French and Dutch, so many Englishman first blamed foreigners, and while the city smoldered, mobs attacked immigrant populations. Others feared it may have been a Catholic plot. Preachers blamed the fire on London's gluttony, while the government hanged a man who falsely confessed to starting the fire

Actually where the statue is it is not wear the fire started. It's on one of our St's where business are now. The fire started by a family how are bakers how blamed there nextdoor neighbour. They got away with it. It only spread that fasted because everybody was living on top of each other for yrs. We have a nursery rhyme after it then nobody will forget about it. All our nursery rhymes are based on bad things that has happened in our past that we don't want to forget our ppl and our past.

The irony of the anti-foreigner sentiment; the French were probably Huguenots- Protestants, like my ancestors- who bugged out of Lorraine, after the Parisian St Bartholomews Day Massacre in the previous century- & more still would leg it after the Revocation of the Edict of Nantes.

1: 16 That man could've won a contest, growing a stalk of celery that large, but instead, he fashioned it into a hat. This hat was capable of transporting up to five jars of Jiff.

Whom God has forbidden them to light a fire on Saturday. They are the ones who set it on fire. If you look a little at the history of major fires. you found it happened on Saturday.

Fear creates paranoia, which leads to more government control and disinformation, which limit freedoms. Many Americans could learn something if they actually cared to learn anything.

I love the judgy tones of these Weird History videos. As if the producers, or any of us, would have behaved any differently. As if we are any better than the people of 1666.

God's wrath for persecuting the Catholic English during the English looting operation.
England were such staunch Catholics, it was known as Mary's Dowery.

I like the blaming of the Catholics for the fire over blaming of the Jews for the Black Plague. Makes sense because of the biblical thing about sixes anyway.

Call me dumb but I just want a legit answer: why did the price of housing skyrocket? If hardly anyone had money, wouldnt it result to lower sales?

Imagine demanding access to a country that is not your own, and then complaining about anti-immigrant violence.

Bruh the baker can survive all year without stuff and make big fires, however he needs to run when its bigger then him.
