This is so upsetting to learn about and watch and, I'm white. I'm angry and upset that this vicious act of hate and violence happened and not a single white person was made to pay for this.
I only learned the surface level of the Civil rights movement and the great Reverend King, but Tulsa was never spoken off. And I hate that. And even 100 years later, the fact that we still need to be reminded that people of all colors matter and not just our pale white asses makes me furious.
This is upsetting, but thank you for covering this, Weird History. I learned about this dark spot on our history and how it makes me feel.

Wait. So the sheriff, who was trying to avoid public vigilantism, suddenly changed his mind & deputized hundreds of angry mob members - then instructed them to go wreak havoc?
Also, WWI training planes where firing at people on the ground? These planes couldn't even do that during actual war.
While this event is atrocious, & should be told to the many who have never heard about it, I'm sensing some serious hyperbole here.

And people think fake news is a new thing. Those newspapers headlines show you, fake news been around a long time!
And the cancel culture doesn't even mention this story in the history books. I can't believe I have never heard of this event. This event completely changed history and what would have been in Tulsa if this never happened. I mean Tulsa might have been a huge city like the Chicago of the south.

Tulsa is STILL a MESS in 2021, and we have almost LOST Greenwood (what's Left of it) to the folks from south tulsa (white folks) and the blacks do not seem to care! it's almost shameful to see us fighting amoung ourselves as the whites come in and take control of our narrative. and we sit by and complain! .lightly. Goodbye dear old Greenwood!

In 2020 the Oklahoma Department of Commerce designed the Greenwood District as an Oklahoma Main Street community and Destination District. Despite the horrors, this strong black community has continued to be a hub of black owned businesses. This gives hope. However, the victims and descendants are owed Reparations and should receive them!

Horrific. Just as horrific is that it happened again in 2020, but the kkk (leftists) convinced them to do it to their own homes and businesses this time. Absolutely vile. I hated the kkk when i thought they were men in white sheets, and i hate them now that i know they're most of the democratic leadership. This shit needs to stop.

Disgusting American history which is consistent with the racist brutality done to blacks people thru centuries. Nobody was ever held responsible for this. I really dont think anyone will. The judicial system is highly bias and created for whites and blacks has basically no chance. The almighty God will have the final say!

My hands turned white after seeing the events play out on the opening episode of Watchmen. I'm damn sure there would have been politicians who would have said at the time, Let's move on from this in the name of unity. That language could be similar to what currently is going in the US right now since January 6th 2021.

We deserve reparations for all of the Horrors our ancestors faced and unfortunately we are still being hunted down by police officers and murdered left to right and sadly a lot of these murders don't even make the news there's nobody on this Earth that could convince me otherwise or negate this unfortunate fact

There were multiple black towns throughout the United States after slavery that were successful and thriving but because the black people were able to sustain themselves and didn't need outside help (they built everything they needed. most of those towns were destroyed by racists.

Since Puerto Rico is part of the united states and everything that has a black narrative also includes Latinos! So. Is this a black American documentary, or BLACK AND LATINOS? Due to the fact it's always black and Latinos? Or did this happen to just black Americans?

White people just can't stand to see Black people and other POC do great. Sadly, it's 2021 & similar incidents are still happening.
These people might've not gotten justice on earth. But trust me these racists are definitely paying the price with their souls.

Things are a lot better in this country than they were back 100 years ago or even in my lifetime.
Young people today think that they have a hard way to go. They need to thank the people that came before them, they did the heavy lifting

The events that took place in Rosewood, FL in 1923, almost mirror the events that happened in Tulsa, OK. Two black communities doing better than their neighboring white communities, destroyed over what a white woman said.

I believe they were jealous of the people of Black Wall Street, So they made up a false narrative like they always did in history to tear down the progress of Black People. Hatred is still a Beast.

They killed bloodlines. I dont think people understand what it feels like to watch this and know that our grandparents went through all of this. My heart breaks for my ancestors. Completely.

Im mortified by our country countless times. Today, I learned another reason for that. Thank you sincerely for the education. We need to own our heinous crimes in order to address them.

When you're Black and you try to build wealth in America, it's either stolen from you or destroyed and when you're broken and you don't care to try anymore, you're called Lazy Smh.

Outstanding that this is America. Just a disgrace. And this Government still won't repay reparations, which is ridiculous. Won't even teach these truths in schools.
