Richard the 1st a great military leader? Good lord the fool went on crusade and got caught and held for ransome by the GERMANS! A spoiled child just like his brothers, and a mother, queen eleanor, who doted on him until his death. Only his older living brother was a bigger dumbass than him. With most of the politicians of today being so. argumentative and low quality perhaps we should bring this back just for them? I bet if the America hating mumblers who mumble the phrase GUN CONTROL got some of this tar and feathering everytime they uttered the words I'm betting their bad behavior would soon stop! So if this should begin again COUNT ME IN FAVOR of it. It's time.

I think they should bring this back to shame thieves etc. public shame is a much more affective means of discouraging repeat offenses than just simply fines or confinement seems to be.
Or maybe we should just tar and feather the judges and officials who let violent offenders out early or dont let them out at all.
Either way I think public punishment should return.

gaining feathers today for pillows or coat etc is a very cruel and barbaric method of literally ripping the feathers off a live goose or duck causing gapping bleeding wounds causing unimaginable pain, the equivalent of having our hair forcibly ripped out. This entire time I assumed it was black tar and assumed it would kill you, or atleast cause massive permanent damage, I always felt it was overkill of a punishment, now Im learning its pine tar.

I think being tarred could eventually cause death, through persistent and recurring infection. They are burn victims. The amount of skin affected is as damaging as the severity of the burn.
