Things Discovered By Accident

Accidental discoveries and inventions have often turned out to be some of the most important to human history. While it might seem intuitive to think that all archaeological finds were discovered by archaeologists or that all scientific discoveries were purposely made by scientists, that just isn't always the case. Sometimes, discoveries are made by ordinary folks doing the same things they do every day. Other times, what have turned out to be some of the world's most important drugs, most useful substances, most fascinating historical finds, and even best-selling toys have been the products of accidents or pure dumb luck. Pro: An additional layer to the story about Alfred Nobel is he was mistakenly thought to have died so he read his own obituary about how he was a merchant of death because of dynamite so that inspired him to change his legacy and fund the Peace Prize

You can thank that man for letting a cop killer out of prison, he was sentenced to a natural life in prison and ended up having a heart attack and getting a pacemaker, so therefore, it was no longer his natural life, plus he died for every day they kept him locked up, since he got it installed, and won. Yes, it gave me my grandfather back, but he was still a murderer and you'd think they'd stop giving that sentence, but they still do.

I love that you went with the cover up story for sticky notes. Everyone knows that Post-its were actually invented by Romy and Michelle. There s a whole documentary about it and everything.

Oh My Goodness!
Whatever became of Robot?
Was he hurt?
Did he survive?
Did he live the rest of his life in luxury because of what he fell into?
Please, do tell!

I don't know if I would call the creation of Velcro the result of an accidental discovery. The cause of the seeds sticking to the dog's fur was intentionally investigated.

Fun fact; the first use of microwaves to heat things was in Germany during the war when it was used to kill lice and other insects in concentration camps.

I got a slinky right now in my closet in pristine condition i've had for like 30 years. I love that thing, still break it out every now and then.

Should have mentioned that there is a myth that Velcro was invented during the Apollo program -- along with Tang. That is a myth too.
