Many consider it Pink Floyd's masterpiece and one of rock music's most influential albums, but 1973's The Dark Side of the Moon is legendary for more than musical reasons. It has a rumored connection to The Wizard of Oz and features the groundbreaking use of segues comprising audio recordings. There's much to Dark Side unknown to the majority of listeners, but the surprising facts add intrigue to the beloved album.

We had these guys. They put out crud like Justin Bieber. We lose Jeff Beck and David Crosby in one week.
We rolled joints and cleaned our weed on our album covers. Record stores were a sacred place and always smelled so cool in Berkeley. You traded records. I traded my GI. JOE for Meet The Beatles at age 8. I had that album for fifty years. I lost all my original Beatles albums in a fire. Along with Dark Side of The Moon. All original.

Still the best concert I have ever seen. I feel sorry for people who never got a chance to see the mighty Pink Floyd live. Dark Side isn't a double album unless you have a 45 RPM copy. It's always been a single record. Meddle is a better album imo. It has Echoes on it. The greatest Floyd song ever recorded besides On The Turning Away.

I love this album. My whole family love Pink Floyd. We actually asked people to wear Pink Floyd T-shirts to Dad s funeral. Amazing band. Put on an amazing show.
I m planning on getting a dark side of the moon tattoo in my Dad s memory as it was his favourite album

Syd was schizophrenic his dabbling in LSD was not the culprit in his decline.
I've personally taken Peyote, Mushrooms, LSD mescaline etc maybe 300 times and attributing Syd's mental decline is absolutely nonsense

This also lines up with the 4th quarter of Super Bowl XLIX. Drop the needle when Seattle punts it back to the Patriots in the 4th quarter down with the Pats down 24-21. Very cool.

ngl I did a double take when I heard the new narrator but im not mad at it. no shade to the lady, but I skip her every time i just don't feel like listening to Watch Mojo.

Allan Parsons was a mad genius in his own right. That dude was way out there.
We've tried the Wizard of Oz thingy so many times back in high school. It doesn't work.

Wait, who's voice is this taking over for the Steven Colbert sounding guy? Sounds like one of the extra Credit dudes. Not upset, just threw me off. Good video.

9: 57. Who the hell is George Hardie? I thought I knew all that could be known about this album and always thought it was Storm Thorgerson who designed the cover.

Back in HS, me and 7 of my friends dropped acid and went to a Pink Floyd 3d laser light show. One of the wildest things I ve ever done in my life. Mind blowing

Go Claire!
I listen to the soundtrack of the Wizard of OZ while watching The Wall. Somewhere Over The Rainbow will blow your mind!

Uhhh. where is the other narrator? Are they okay? This one sounds like molasses pouring out of the bottle. Slow and weirdly thick.

It absolutely does line up with The Wizard of OZ. it's kinda freaky in an awesome way. It also lines up with
Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2
