I find it hard to believe so many women were willingly locked away or hidden for him. Some of these like Walter’s story sounds like Stockholm syndrome or a trauma bond(where the victim loves the abuser for survival. He straight up kidnapped someone, art aside this guy was sick. He used his money and power to get women, and if they wouldn’t come willingly he would force them. I feel bad for any lady that caught his attention, it’s almost certainly a ticking clock on what type of tragedy they would experience. He couldn’t even see the wife he abandoned on her death upon request, this man is ice cold.

Caught his exhibition at the Tate Liverpool a few years back and despite the excessive Entrance Fee it was one of the finest I’ve ever seen. I never knew he only visited Britain once and was held up by customs for 7hours because of his political views and at a party in a house in Sheffield he sketched out a few bits on the kitchen wall and that since then that wall was removed, protected and sold to the Collection. One of those artists that is almost equal to the constant hyperbole.

I can appreciate a piece of beautiful architecture, knowing nothing about its creator, and no matter how great a d-bag they were in real life, the art speaks for itself. This weird, simplistic all-or-nothing attitude we have about people and art/music/etc is objectively absurd. People can be ssholes and still do amazing things, whether we resent them or not. Judgey arguing is irrelevant to the integrity of the art itself.

Pablo created revolutionary paintings or very scarce containers of value. Over time his containers became priceless. Was the ultimately purpose of his revolutionary art to be an ever increasing container of value for the rich bourgeoisie I feel the irony would not be lost on Mr Picasso.

Pos if your wife calls you to her death bed, you would be better though of if you had gone. So many common law wives & children born out of wedlock, couldn’t inherit any thing when he died. They all end up living in poverty & he had plenty to spread around. A real cad.

I see works of Picasso and Rothko and I wonder how such talent-less artists get so much esteem. Then you see how this guy treated women and I wonder how he got so many
That's their true reflection of society, not their work of society, but their status in society

Picasso single handedly made me believe the Art world and it's critics are full of sht.
I'll never understand how someone who can't paint or draw any better than a third grader was able to capture the world like he did.

Creative persons do never have ANY problem finding a partner/lover. That reminds me of an old saying: It is no problem finding someone to go to bed with. The challenge is to find someone you want to wake up next to

Women love a- holes. good thing for Picasso is that people were shorter during his lifetime. Nowadays he would need to pay for love as daddy taught him. short kings are a thing of the past.

As much as we hate it, soooo many successful people are in the narcissist abuse spectrum. He probably would have been penniless if not for this trait; quite frankly the emperor has no clothes.

Thanks so much for this! Since you asked, he was both of those things. but we mustn't confuse the art with the artist. His work is special and his personal life, less-than-ideal.

If you take any college/university level art history class, you already knew this--but, most of the exalted artists did have a way with the ladies

Important to note pretty much all the women in his life, and even his children, noted how terrible his view and treatment of women was.
