3: 43 He's been dead for 24 years! Think about that! One of the best cartoonists of our generation.
5: 16 The only other console that came close was Nintendo's Switch. Playstation 3 was the last Sony console with backwards capability without modding it depending on the version you have.
7: 22 It used to be a quartet before it became a trio.
8: 53 That would be confusing as fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuq if it did split it up.
14: 47 Context. The boy was still under the effects of NO2 from a dentist appointment.
18: 13 Double whammy! Yikes!
18: 29 Sadly, the console didn't get things like DVD playback until later years in the console lifetime with the maker Panasonic. The DVD model didn't sell well and now, only 150 units exist around the world.

I was barely 3 but this is when I can vividly recall my first memories(going with my dad to get the PS2. I just had my son this past year and it’s sad our children won’t understand life with little tech, but great tech for the time. The television was pretty solid, sports was great, then everything started being owned by giant companies. That is the downfall to America, allowing greed and big corps to control markets not putting people’s well being ahead IMO. It’s nothing wrong becoming a millionaire off a great idea or hard work but the CEO’s check their salaries do they need 10Plus million a year Especially when a lot of these people are children of nepotism.

I was 13 years old that year. Just a young teenage boy in middle school.
2000 was also the year that Danish building toy manufacturer LEGO introduced their first of many LEGO Sports subthemes: Soccer (a. k. a. European Football)
LEGO was just hot off of the success of their first licensed theme, Star Wars, which first released a year prior with sets based on both the Original Trilogy and Episode I.
The LEGO Star Wars theme still continues to be popular as of 2024.

So glad to see TIMELINE back at it again! I don't have any fond memories of the year 2000. I turned 10 years old. I remember the Y2K Bug a little bit. I thought our family computer was going to be caput after the year change, but glad that didn't happen lol
I still had my Nintendo 64 that I played up until late in 2001. I never owned a PS2. I did however, own a used PS1. But I didn't play it much. I thought the N64 was better.

2000 was also the year of the first and only crash of the Anglo-French built Concorde which saw the beginning of the end of supersonic passenger service. All Concordes were grounded for a year for refit after the accident. Coincidentally the first test flight after refit was the morning of 9/11. In the same notion, the downward pattern in air travel subsequently led to it's retirement by its operators by October 2003.

In 1973 I thought about the year 2000 and dreaded it. I thought I would be old then. I was 16 at the time. In the year 2000 I worked in an IT department and I remember Y2K being a thing being worked on. My daughter was married and my oldest granddaughter was 2. I was 43. It was nice when my grandkids were little.

As an avid NASCAR fan, I'm both surprised and ecstatic that Dale's last career win was featured. Many consider him as one of the greatest NASCAR drivers of all time and a huge presence within motorsports (and sports in general) back then. I imagine that his death will be featured in the upcoming 2001 episode.

Way too much US-specific sports crap in here to make the title sound like it means the whole world.
Edit: Scrap that. Aside from a hand full of world wide impacting events, it's all just US stuff. Would have been nice to point that out in the title. The world is much bigger than just the US.

WE ARE SO BACK! I was born in 2002, and can’t really remember much from before 2008 (when I started kindergarten, so it’ll be a blast to see what life was like in the first decade of my life. Although I’ve got to admit, would’ve loved to see the 1960s instead. maybe next

While the 2000 election mess was in progress, someone said that every presidential election was rigged. So, I asked, why didn't the people running things just say that one guy got more votes than the other and so he was the winner They had to make it look good. I kid you not.

Everyone gave Lars & Metallica so much for the Napster stuff. well, look at where we are now. Turns out, they were right. Now we get to pay 4 - 6 times as much for a concert ticket, and hardly get any full albums worth a fxxx. It's singles and videos.

was born in 2004, and the 2000s is my favorite decade. so can’t wait for more years of the 2000s! and thanks for adding that kelloggs straws commercial, 2000s nostalgia needs to be mainstream. its so overshadowed by 90s nostalgia.

I was 16. I remember the turn over to 2000 being an amazing experience. And we all held our breathe as the time hit, waiting for the lights to all go out, but the party kept going.
Being a teen during this time was amazing.

I remember very well I lived in Miami, FL in 2000 when all of the local news stations were capturing live footage of Elian Gonzalez being taken away. I remember Janet Reno instructed to sieze him and return back to Cuba

Wow not even gonna mention Britney releasing Oops! I Did It Again since it broke the record of first week sales before Eminem and remained the biggest first week sales by a female solo artist for over a decade

being 12 years old at this time, it hits right in the feels. the old commercials, this is literally the year i would choose to go back too. before the greatest tragedy, and marking the downfall to americans.

This moment has been thoroughly hyped up! So much excite! This is especially dope for anyone who was born early 90's, hitting all early teen milestones during this decade. I was but a wee 7 year old this year.

I was actually one of the first people to experience the millennium. USS TOPEKA (SSN 754, I was on board on 12/31/99 and we were at the intersection of the equator and international date line. Completely uneventful.

You said it wasn't the 21st century art the beginning and then you said the Eminem album was released in the 21st century which of course it wasn't. It was released in the year 2000 which is in the 20th century.
