Yall should do a video on the battle of Franklin and the stories of the Mcgavocks, carters and Lotz families. But also regarding the details of the battle. The battle of Franklin was not the bloodiest battle of the civil war. Or the bloodiest day. However it was the bloodiest 4 hours of the civil war accumulating approximately 10, 000 casualties in that time including the deaths of 6 confederate generals. The epicenter of the battle was so brutal from the hand to hand combat (fighting with pickaxes and hand to hand, that when the families came from the basement of the Carter house the next morning their feet never touched the ground but only on the bodies of the dead.

Chamberlain is a legend. Out of ammo and down in numbers, Chamberlain knew he couldnt hold off another Rebel charge coming up the hill, so he did the only thing a good commander would do, he ordered his men to fix bayonets and charge downhill. He also wisely placed sharp shooters into a position behind a stone wall , so they could not be seen by the confederates. The resulting volleys from those men furthered aided Chamberlains victory that day

I like Burns' story.
I'd like to hear a future story about the Battle of Guadalcanal. That was a horror show. I used to take care of a guy at an ACLF I worked at who was there and almost 50 years later would still wake up screaming and pissing himself. Rest in Peace, Randy.

Can say cool and also for another idea on the Civil War could do one on the Ironclad ships like the Monitor and Merrimack and also what it was like being in service of them. Since this was also the time of the ships dealing in metal and wood was out like our modern navy is so that's something to look into WH.

A well kept and beautiful place.
I wish I could spend at least a week there to take it all in at one time.
Lets hope we never have to go to war with our friends, family, and neighbors ever again.

I've been to Gettysburg twice, and I absolutely love it there. The people are very friendly and welcoming, the battlefield tours are fun and informative, and the ghost tours are fascinating. If you have any interest in visiting, I highly recommend it.

The Civil War's Bloodiest Battle--Gettysburg I had the impression it was Antietam. But I guess in one way, it doesn't really make that big a difference.
