Nowadays, plastic surgery is seen as a pretty basic, relatively safe procedure - but that hasn't always been the case. The first plastic modern advanced surgery on record was performed during World War I, and at the time, it was very risky and nearly killed the man who went under the knife. Walter Yeo was injured in battle and would have had to live out the rest of his life with a severely marred face if it hadn't been for one daring doctor by the name of Sir Harold Gillies. Together, the two of them would attempt a completely revolutionary surgery that would give Yeo back his life (and his face, and secure Gillies a place in the history books. Plastic surgery should only be available for medical purposes and those that have been disfigured in an accident. People are so reckless when it comes to altering their appearance. Accept yourself for how you are. Otherwise, seek psychological help.

Very cool story! Had no idea plastic surgery occurred this early! What a courageous man. Thank goodness for advanced medical technology. But even today there still major complications and infections after some plastic surgeries.

, love seeing Principal Steinbeck return. The fact that Cody being in kindergarten is an arc reminds me of Junior going to summer school which was also an arc

I definitely wouldn't want to be the first person to get plastic surgery. Hell, I wouldn't get it now unless it was medically necessary.
