I was in the second grade in 2002, 7 years old. I remember back this far clearly. I moved into a new home, moved to a new school, and later met my best friend. I am still friends with him 22 years later. I was OBSESSED with Spider Man, Transformers, and Bionicle. Saturday mornings were for cartoons on Kids WB. I didn't yet have my game boy advance SP, but I did play mom's old SNES a lot. Got really good at DK Country. McDonalds still gave away some incredible toys. Lilo and Stitch came out that year, and the toys for that were really fun. A good time in my life, before my mom met my abusive step dad in 2005.

In March 2002, I had a nervous breakdown in ninth grade and had to transfer high schools from Bronx Science to my neighborhood school: Francis Lewis in Queens. Nevertheless, to help cope with those trying times, I got into Bollywood films with Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001) and started listening to The Savage Nation on 770 WABC on the AM dial of my radio. We visited Disney World that year, but I enjoyed the movie and the radio shows way more. Being 14, I felt too old to have a good time there. My little sister, however, had a great time. Thank God she did; she was six years old.

July 3, 2002: The Powerpuff Girls Movie premieres in theaters.
It became a commercial failure after going up against a strong slate of competitors, including Hey Arnold! : The Movie, Lilo & Stitch, Spider-Man, Scooby-Doo, as well as a strong opening for the film Men in Black II, starring Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones.
The poor performance of The Powerpuff Girls Movie was cause for Cartoon Network not to adapt anymore of their original cartoons into theatrical films for over a decade.

RIP Daniel Pearl. I'm definitely not a zionist, but he was a great guy, he didnt deserve to die. His dad is in his late 80s, and is still a productive researcher in the field of computer science. If your heart is hardened to their struggles due to events in Gaza, read his fathers work and account of this period in time. They are hardworking, proud, American people, definitely not deserving of having his sons execution recorded and shared to the world.

No child left behind was a devastating policy that did no good at all- the teachers literally put me in detention for reading because you’re not allowed to be smarter than the dumbest kid I was beaten and the book RIPPED from my hands. I was NOT the only one. They would lock us up so we couldn’t get to books and force us to listen to idiotic things instead. I was tortured for wanting to READ and that became criminalized.

I remember getting Kingdom Heart and Tekken 4 for Christmas this Year. I remember the day after Christmas, me and dad went to Target what's the better big screen TV for the living room. While my dad was looking for the TV I was looking at some games and I saw Metal Gear Solid 2 are they headed for sale for $24. 99 my dad asked me did I want it and I told him yes. That was a great childhood memory. I miss my dad.

I absolutely remember this story being the only thing cable news was talking about all summer 2001, right up until the morning of September 11, 2001, when it was then almost never mentioned again.

2002 - When I got a Playstation 2 for my birthday specifically to play Kingdom Hearts. I just had to see how Squaresoft and Disney were going to pull off a crossover. Think they pulled it off great despite the difficulty. It even got me back into watching the classic Disney movies. I still have that PS2, BTW. Creaks like an 18th century galleon, but it can still play games and DVDs.

Wait. Did I miss hear, or did you say 6: 21 that Space-X was the 1st to create a liquid propelled rocket The Saturn 5 used liquid propellent and the A-4 (V-2) also used it. I also fairly sure that there were armature rocket builders in Germany in the 1930s that were already using it on small sub-orbital rockets.

It was either 2002 or 2003 that I have my earliest memory, I was running towards the stairs (the stairway was blocked with couch cushions) and one of my mom's friends who was visiting at the time grabbed me and pulled me away, I broke free and tried running back there again but she blocked me

I had the best Christmas in 2002, got a good amount of Marvel action figures with the comic books in them. Gooey Looey game or toy I got, GameCube super smash bros, saw the spider man movie in theatres that year. Honestly there’s nothing bad about 2002 in my opinion.

July 24th 2002, might have been one of the only times the house could eject a really bad democrat from office, now days there are a lot of Democrats who really need to step down, arrested or told they are to old and step down it was probably so much easier back then.

7: 36 WRONG, You've got your 2s completely wrong. She died in 2022, not 2002. Got month and day wrong too. The date you listed on screen was also different than what was read out loud. She died on September 8th, not March 30th or April 9th.

I remember how absolutely floored alot of us were to learn that The DC sniper were two Black guys. All the comedians had a joke relaying that.

It's hard for me to contemplate that probably a significant portion of people who watched this video haven't even been born yet but are already in their early twenties and I was already 11 at the time. Time flies I guess
