How much of who we are is determined by our genetics, and how much by the nature of our environment while growing up It’s an intriguing question to puzzle over - but some scientists and researchers may have gone too far to solve the nature vs. nurture debate. In 2008 whole working at a sporting goods store I commented that my supervisor not only looked exactly like a childhood friend of mine, but sounded like him as well. My supervisor said my friend had the same last name as his papa (grandfather - whom raised him. After some chatting between the two, my friend came up to the store with his father & his (their) dad, who used to be a state patrolman (the kind that slept with women to get them out of tickets, admitted that they were half beothers! Turns out the two never knew of the other & they never met up until that point. The father rarely visited my supervisor as he wanted to keep the extra marital affair a secret (the grandparents were aware but promised to keep silent.
It was really cool seeing those two together & last I heard, they are now really close!

My Co-venture partner was a separated identical twins. They were separated for cultural reasons. Something about evil likes identical twins or something.
The birth family kept the older, while the youngest was taken by another family member who lives far away. Their whole life they kept separated until they accidentally met in a community event at 19.
The older is a dark goth, atheist, loves Black and dark themes, death, witchcraft and black Rose.
The younger is goth Lolita, deeply religious, loves White, laces and girly theme, death, witchcraft and white Rose.
They also very good in art.
Those hobby and likes seeped into their everyday life. You will never see them wearing something mundane or Muggles.
They are so different but so identical too. A true black and white.

At 49 I found out I had an older half brother. It's not easy finding out everyone you were brought up to trust lied to you your whole life. The family destruction that eventually resulted from that, among other things, was total. The older folks weren't thinking what was best for us, they were thinking of their own potential discomfort. Lies and secrets like this should be a crime, you just do not have a right to do this to kids.

I never heard about this story Mr ballin and I think was the one that first brought it to my attention definitely messed up what they did here you can definitely tell it mess with their minds I suppose they could have had issues prior to this because as far as I know this was the first and only time that's ever happened but then again I kind of doubt it this is probably the only time they got caught

All of these children developed emotional issues because their soul KNEW the most important person to them, their twin, had been taken from them. They shared the water of the womb, they needed to be together in order to feel safe and complete. They were meant to share their lives, and purposefully came into this realm together to have that bond. No amount of science can wave that away.

German has a VERY regular pronunciation. Knowing that Freud is pronounced in a certain way, or that Deutschland is pronounced the same way, Neubauer (meaning new farmer) should be pronounced noy bower and not nigh bower. With less than a few hours of instruction on the matter, you should be able to read German text correctly without knowing the meaning of a single word.

I am adopted and have always known i am adopted. If you don't tell a child they are adopted you are creating issues. I couldn't help but notice i didn't look like anyone and that nobody but me had musical talents. Knowing i was adopted made it all make sense. I had a fabulous family and never felt like less. These poor children never had a chance.

Maybe you could do a video about Jack Yufe and Oskar Stohr. They were a pair of Jewish identical twins who were separated at birth. One of the twins was adapted by a Nazi family while the other grew up in Trinidad. Apparently the one raised by Nazis was disciplined while the one raised in the Caribbean was more laid back.

At the gym I attend- one of the front-desk attendants resembles and has some facial features that my brother has. Only he's about 20 years younger than my brother, and is about 340 miles away in the neighboring state. It's so strange seeing this 20 something guy that looks similar to how my brother used to look back then.

What’s so chilling is the fact he thought nothing was wrong with it. This was for research purposes only. This reminds me of the Tuskegee experiment or experiments on the Jews during WWII where the experimenter made the subject seem less than human to justify the ends! Absolutely horrifying!
reply

Inconclusive. meaning the study didn't prove me right.
These types of studies should be displayed publicly, along with ALL the data, to teach what NOT to do, and hopefully prevent future BS. Instead they hide the info until 2065, when people will hopefully have forgotten about it.

reply

It seems research of this type could be vulnerable to confirmation bias. If you look for similarities between any too objects, then you are likely to find some since that is what you are looking for. It would be interesting to see how this research avoids this issue if at all.
reply

I think it's one of those cases where yes, this was absolutely horrible, and it should have been prevented, but we can still use the data and do the best we can for reparations
I hope the separated siblings can all find each other, and come to peace

reply

I think the study was unethical. I don't like the word Identical Twin, because these twins aren't actually identical. And this language can unconsciously give people a biased impression that these twins are actually more similar than they are.

In the chat section during their premiere music videos, the Harp Twins answer as a single user!
To clarify that, Camille and Kennerly do not respond as themselves but both respond as a single user. the Harp Twins!

reply

I have siblings I've never met. As far as I know they don't even know I exist.
They live in Australia too but the distance between us is at least 3, 600km.
So I doubt we'll ever bump into each other.

reply

I watched a documentary about the triplets some time ago and they were so messed up! After the news broke about how they had been separated, the study, etc, the press wouldn't leave them alone.
reply

In the chat section for the first music video premiere of the Harp Twins I saw, I asked them Do you read each other's thoughts
They said yes, but they also think very similarly.

reply

Cruel shit right there. Science doesn't require being terrible people like these researchers. Sometimes you can get the data naturally or you shouldn't get it at all
