Michelle Obama only wanted the publicity side, when it came down to combating childhood obesity. If she really cared she wouldn't have backed down when confronted by all the USDA backed big business food industries. Just like Barack's attempt to end racism with change, her efforts led to NO CHANGE and the food industry is even more processed than it originally was. This is what happens when you have 2 lawyers living in the Whitehouse and expecting them to change your personal life, as well as electing them just because of their skin color. Pick your poison, either way every American is sick.

What a terrific historical video! I laughed so hard at some of the items. The one that made me wonder was Queen Elizabeth II being served some pretty exotic food. From what I understand, she was pretty strict on what she would eat. But she looked very happy.
Not necessarily for the food, but I would have loved to have been at the event with Princess Diana and John Travolta with the Reagan household.
That thing about the Chef who refused to fix BBQ and stuff absolutely slayed me -- probably the best for all involved.

Welp, I gotta say I respect FDR a lot more for having humbler tastes during the Depression. Though, I still don't like that sweet potato casserole. Was he the one that invented it, with the marshmallows on top?
Edit: as for who I'd dine with. I don't care for the politics of LBJ nor Carter, but I'd have dinner with either of them. Also, Reagan's dinners sound like a ball so I definitely would've wanted to go to those.

A great steak, grilled or fried chicken, a nice grilled pork chop, with a stuffed baked potato, a nice side salad, some fresh baked dinner rolls and some pie or cheese cake for dessert, sounds much better to me. I guess I'm not cultured enough!

I always had a special place in my heart for Grant despite all his scandals and bad choices. One of the most down-to-earth if not flawed presidents, reflects in his food choices (I prefer simpler food too, but fancy stuff is good sometimes)

I would have loved to dine with Dwight. Not so much for the food he served but for the conversation. Food wise I liked George W. simple yet named nice to seem fancy. Also not a fan of seafood so that was a strike on most presidents menus

A chef who worked at the white house, I saw this dude take a regular chicken sandwich combo from KFC. And he turned into, chicken cordon Bleu. And some other stuff (I forget. But this chef took a 10$ meal and turned into a 50$ meal!

All these opinions about classy foods vs simple foods. Hell, as long as it tastes good, food is food, it's amazing in any form. Eating at the high class steak house is equally enjoyable as eating at Cracker Barrel, because. food!
