Uh, if monkeys escaped we could just snipe them, get tanks and maybe make a security weapons, only allowing humans to use them by scaning finger prints.
Also, if they did learn to make spears they would not be able to even trow it or use it correctly, since their skeletons are diffetent from humans, humans have a agile skeletons.

I don't think it could happen. Hand to hand combat they win but we have bombs and tanks and chemicals and guns and missiles and it wouldn't be enough of their smartest to take those over from our smartest and we out number them by billions

I genuinely believe that apes are still evolving. If us humans can last a million years I-m sure we-d see monkeys become smarter and more human like. We evolved over a million years. Who-s to say evolution ever stopped?
