I mean, that is the general idea if humans want to survive past the death of our Sun. I know it's a long time away, but it is inevitable. Something will have to be done eventually. I think giant rockets around the planet to steer it would be the most obvious solution, but the amount of fuel it would require would probably burn off all our oxygen and kill everyone. We will have to harvest all the other planets in our solar system first. Who knows what the human population will be like by then, but it would probably be easier to accomplish if there were way less people. What humans will probably have to do is build something like a -Death Star-. One giant craft, so that they have complete control over all the water, fuel, and breathable air. Hopefully by then humans will evolve some new method of living. Using less oxygen or maybe doing without oxygen altogether. Humans are going to have to evolve the ability to survive off EMR. Then we can just generate power for a -Sun lamp- to get the energy we need to live. There should always be some source of EMR in space, so it should be possible to harvest it somehow. Future humans might need to be smaller so they require less energy to survive. Much more efficient and sustainable.

Then something happened and all intelligent life left after they left the necessary components for life to grow on the surface. Now they're just watching from afar to see how we are doing and how the world is evolving. Like a science project from an ancient society. Don't tell me that wouldn't make an awesome movie script.
