What If We Killed All Snakes?

video description

Rating: 4.0; Vote: 1
These slithering creatures can live in the smallest corners of your home and the darkest places you don-t dare visit. Well, not anymore, because today we-re killing every single snake on Earth. How would this snake hunt begin? Would we have to invent a bioweapon to finish the job? And why would things get medieval?

Killing all snakes would have a significant impact on the ecosystems in which they live, as snakes are an important part of many food chains. They help control rodent populations, and many species of snakes are preyed upon by larger animals. Removing snakes from an ecosystem could lead to an overpopulation of their prey, which could have negative effects on other species that rely on those animals for food.
Additionally, many snake species play an important role in seed dispersal and pollination. Some snakes also have medicinal properties, and they are culturally significant to many human communities.
It's worth mentioning that snakes are also important to controlling pests, they are beneficial to agriculture, and they are also important indicators of ecosystem health.
As with any species, it is important to understand the role they play in their ecosystem and the consequences of their removal before taking any action.

This comment section is full of idiots who don't understand how important snakes are.
1. Their venom can actually be extracted and then used to make antidotes. Without them, plagues would be a lot more effective.
2. Snakes mostly feed off of rodents like mice and rats. If all snakes were gone, the mouse and rat population would increase rapidly and it would be a much bigger problem.
3. 85% of snakes AREN'T EVEN VENOMOUS!
We need snakes. Wanting an entire species eradicated because it's -cReEpY- and nothing else makes you an ignorant dumb-ass.
EDIT: On second thought, I don't think you guys need to hate or be scared of snakes regardless, because I doubt you people ever go outside anyway.

I'd be happy to rid the world of the useless ones like the Black/Green Mambas, anything with 'Cobra' attached to it, anything with 'Rattle' attached to it, and those Pythons. In short, if it can kill me, to hell with it, we can leave the garden snakes and the -play dead- snakes be.
Oh and the sea snakes, those can go too, just to reiterate.
PS: if rats become the issue, we take care of them too -. Are normal rats really useful for anything though?

he mention the worst case scenario. there would be an increase of rodents but not at an alarming rate. a lot of animals feed on rodents. all natural predators of snakes like birds of prey, mongoose, honey badgers, wild boar, etc feed on rodents too. not to mention other animals that have rodents on their daily menu like cats, dogs, coyotes, ferrets, foxes and so on. on the other hand venomous snakes kill 138. 000 people every year, mostly farmers.

I had an encounter with a rattlesnake. I was in Eastern Washington and I wondered of a trail to do business. I heard a rattle and a hiss and it was coming from right by my foot. If snakes were aggressive or if it meant me harm it would have bitten me but it didn't. It was obviously letting me know it was there and I backed of and it left me alone.

I think it would be messed up if all snakes were killed because who doesn-t love reptiles. They also play a part in our ecosystem and the only reason these snakes attack is because humans provoke them and destroy them home -.

They should get rid of all the pythons and anaconda in Florida. No seriously anaconda sitting have been more common north of the glades along with pythons being able to breed with them is something incredibly concerning

3: 49 Rodents won't increase and raptors like owls, hawks and eagles won't starve to death for a one-mixed reason. These raptors also eat rodents, so they'll fill in the gap of the food chain and eat more rodents.

I can't think of a world without snakes. These are my nightmares but I still love them and I have not killed a single snake in my entire life and will try to be committed to that status for the rest of my life.

i killed a snake outside about 30 minutes ago. it was pretty fun, i enjoyed it. snakes are just heartless, gross, disgusting creatures. i don't understand how people find them -cute- or -funny. -

You try to kill all of the snakes on earth you will become one of the 100, 000 people that get killed a year. Don-t go looking for trouble because you-ll surely find it.

There are some places in the world that don-t have snakes such as New Zealand, Ireland, Iceland, and Hawaii. Do they have issues with rat infestations?

3: 49 I don't think rodents would infest because some other animals like cats and some birds like owls and hawks also eat rodents.

It's not the snakes I want gone rather the mosquitoes. That'd was my FAV episode and why haven't we gotten rid of them yet
reply

snakes arent a threat to humans they benefit the environment they are creepy as hell but they are trying to survive like you
reply

I am a snake lover so it wouldn't be wise. They help every animal on earth. I especially like ball pythons which are cute
reply

A lot of people have ophidiophobia, but I-m not scared of snakes as long as they-re not venomous or constrictors.
reply

I hope they dont extinct but i also hope not to ever meet 'em except in zoo- i hate rats too btw! Theyre sooo annoying!
reply

If we did that, we would be swarming with so many vermins. Even cats and ferrets won't be able to tackle those.
reply

By killing only venous snakes from human city and village what will be the impact? No need to kill them in forest.
reply
