Nothing would happen because of Relativistic dilation. Einstein repeatedly said that singularities/black holes are not possible. He wrote in 1939 -
The essential result of this investigation is a clear understanding as to why the Schwarzchild singularities (he was the first to claim that Relativity predicts singularities) do not exist in physical reality. Although the theory given here treats only clusters (star) whose particles move along circular paths it does seem to be subject to reasonable doubt that more general cases will have analogous results. The Schwarzchild singularities do not appear for the reason that matter cannot be concentrated arbitrarily. And this is due to the fact that otherwise the constituting particles would reach the velocity of light.
He was referring to dilation/gamma. It's the phenomenon our high school teachers were talking about when they said mass becomes infinite at the speed of light. This doesn't mean mass increases, it means mass becomes spread throughout spacetime relative to an outside observer. Time dilation is just one aspect of dilation, it's not just time that gets dilated. Even mass that exists at 75% light speed is partially dilated.
It occurs wherever there is an astronomical quantity of mass. This includes the centers of very high mass stars and the overwhelming majority of galaxy centers.
Our own galactic center is dilated. This means that there is no valid XYZ coordinate we can attribute to it, you can't point your finger at something that is smeared through spacetime. In other words that mass is all around us. It's the missing mass needed to explain galaxy rotation curves.
Dilation does not occur in galaxies with low mass centers because they do not have enough mass to achieve relativistic velocities. It has been confirmed in 6 ultra diffuse galaxies including NGC 1052-DF2 and DF4 to have no dark matter. In other words they have normal rotation rates.

In my opinion, if a tiny needle used to sew the cloth can be made to travel at the speed of light and impact the earth, it will produce an explosion more or less the equivalent of 50-100 tons or 0. 05 - 0. 1 Kiloton of TNT. That is the equivalent of the energy released if the impact is strong enough to split every atom in the needle's material. You do not compute for the impact's kinetic energy model because the needle's material will not hold together upon impact but will instead vaporize instantly, and with it the dissipation of the kinetic energy. So in my opinion, that is the yield of the explosion and not as high as megatons or millions of tons of TNT like the large nuclear bomb that you said.

To the guy in the comments calling bs on the needle doing that kind of disaster: when an object impacts Earth, it releases its kinetic energy, converting it in heat. The kinetic energy is equal to half of mass times the speed squared. In this example, the speed is the Speed of Light, which is a gigantic number, and squaring it produces an insanely big number, so, even multiplying it with an amount as small as half the mass of a needle, you still get an amout of energy (and therefore heat) capable of causing that degree of damage.

I HAVE BEEN QUESTIONING THIS FOR THE LAST FOUR YEARS or least if it hit a person my thought was either itd explode the person from the kenetic energy or would pass thru with mild discomfort or would almosy be like pepper holes due to spaghettification glad yo know im bot the only person that was curious on this now i wonder how much larger earth must be for a human to not fly off the surface if earth suddenly halted granted its smooth surfaced and no trees or building n such
reply

Not to disagree with Einstein's theory I'm just having a hard time understanding the mass issue how much actual mass are we talking here It's a paper thin small needle to push enough energy into a needle to get it up to light speed I think that the energy would disintegrate the needle or by the time it hit friction with our atmosphere for that matter. I guess there is no real world way to know because there is no way to push any object that fast with that much energy so far.

calculations show that if the sun suddenly disappeared then within 4 mins and 50 seconds the light we receive will lessen in brightness until its completely dark, there wouldn't be an instant loss of light, think of it as lowering the volume of your radio from 100 to zero after 4 mins and 50 seconds.

Thanks for the analysis! Could you help me with something unrelated: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (air carpet target dish off jeans toilet sweet piano spoil fruit essay. Could you explain how to move them to Binance

Hi, asked for this one several years ago but you never did it: What if. Speakers were as big as skyscrapers Plewse do this one as there's people that want huge Speakers built onto the exterior of large buildings in the future!

Wat happens if u put tones of noz bottles inside a space ship would it survive or would it be a be a total disaster of destruction anyone thought of that My question is probably nt maybe that should be interesting video for this guy

I can see the difference of light between the lightbud and the floor, and it doesn't seem that fast.
4: 37 Interesting.
That's not that fast.
We can beat this Goku!
5: 50 An spacial giant Sling-gun!

No. It would not create a tidal wave. Tidal waves are created by the sun and moon. The needle impact would create a tsunami. And there is one thing that can travel faster than light. Space/Time itself.
reply

Light hits faster than it can be reflected. There was an experiment where they measured it, it showed the light first, then the Reflection. Almost like light travels in the future for a moment
!

Nothing with any mass has any chance of traveling at the speed of light. Mankind will never create anything that travels at the speed of light. Better off working on a teleportation device
reply

05: 05 ackchyually, the expansion of space appears to be breaking that rule. afaik even neutrinos may be able to exceed lightspeed (D. U. N. E. will reveal that, if it is ever finished)
reply

So. if mankind creates spaceships that can travel at the speed of light, then one mistakeif they don’t stop and instead crash into Earthcould wipe out all life on the planet
reply

Everyone always talks about how matter cannot travel at the speed of light. Nobody ever talks about how fast matter can theoretically travel. Do one on that!
reply

I just dnt understand why if your American or use America as example you dnt use our metrics dude we use mph/mps/fps. its PRIMARY HERE

So I have something to ask now. What if the needle didn't followed, no law of physics, what will happen, and it travelled at the speed of light.
reply

I think the needle would be driven deep into the earth. I’d like to see the math on the needle’s mass - traveling at that speed.
