What if the Draka Actually Existed? Anderson: A few minor comments on the African Front of the War:
One, I dont think it would be easy for the Drakans to conquer the African colonies. The Europeans and Naitives alike would know their foes reputation and the fate that awaited them in the Drakan empire. In fact, this might even result in a more symbiotic relationship between the two groups, as both would fear and hate the enemy to the south. Either way, the African colonies would not be taken easily. At the very least, everyone involved would fight as demons, with guerilla campaigns likely running rampant.
Two, this would likely have an affect on the Free France movement, but I dont know what. On one hand, the French might throw more of their support behind the fascist powers, hoping to get a better deal for the inhabitants of the colonies and protect them from the Draka. One the other, hatred of the Draka might stop them from complying with the Axis at all, viewing them as impossible to reason with. Such a scenario could easily develop into a timeline similar to the what if the French didnt surrender video, where French Africa remains with the Republicans, even if the Metropole surrenders.

I guess Draka wouldn't be able to industrialize at all, one of the best examples irl would be Brazil, the way I see it, Draka's economy would have 0 necessity for industrialization since they can just buy more slaves, plant more stuff, treat their slaves even worse and then profit even more. soon western ideas would start kicking in and draka would become a third world country, no matter how militaristic it is, without industry to support it, it wouldn't be able to develop technologies and wouldn't be much different from Brazil (actually, it much probably would be a worse place compared to Brazil since warrior culture + slavocracy = waste of money on fighting off internal conflict and wasting precious money that could go to education or infrastructure into the military.

I hate these hostorical fictions where one nation just conquers the whole world like it's nothing, due to a strong military or superior technology or something like that. Do you now how ridiculously hard it is to conquer the world? Maybe that is why no one has actually done it. The british empire and the mongol empire are the closest we have to a world conquest, and even them only had 25% of the worlds surface. The bigger your empire is, the hardest it is to keep your territories under control, the faster your expand the least you are able to secure your presence in those regions creating an empire of subjects that have no real identification as being part of the empire and thus have a much higher risk of revolting.

Stirling is a hack. He made his name by coauthoring a couple of books with Anne McCaffery wherein she did all the heavy lifting. One series that was bad was Emberverse. Get this. something (Aliens) alters the laws of physics causing all high energy level reactions to cease. No electricity, nothing explodes, blah blah. First problem is that with electricity not happening every single organism with a nervous system would just drop dead. This includes people. Oops. Didn't think about that. Eff so-called science fiction writers who are in fact scientifically illiterate.

The biggest problem with the 'Draka' story line is that an agrarian slave owning society inhibits innovation and wealth creation so it would be technologically backward compared to America or Europe. Non-slave owning societies that industrialize and are capitalistic would develop technology much more rapidly. The biotech in these 'Draka' stories is far more difficult to develop than machinery and electronics and they would not be able to create superior human beings through genetic manipulation. Sterling is simply a racist at heart, a neo-Nazi.

The diplomatic situation after the Napoleonic Wars strongly favored stable borders and balance of power. If the Draka were expanding in Africa, the European powers would try to contain them. They would quickly come into conflict with the Portuguese, Britain's traditional ally. The most likely outcome would be Portugal establishing a sea-to-sea colony through modern Zambia. If that failed, the European powers might pin the Draka in with a Greater Zanzibar extending into the Southern Congo, or a French protectorate in that region.

Have to say your thing makes more sense than the description of the narrative world. Honestly hadn't even heard of this series before.
Though just the concept of world history having more technological advancement would throw everything off, since you could very well be into WMDs by end of WW 1 or before WW 2 and once you hit mutually assured destruction that would stalemate world powers from going to open war like it did in real life.

As a current citizen of the Kingdom of the Netherland, I am horrified by this 'alternate history' as the current Dutchmen couldn't be more different from our ancestors that inflicted those horrors of the past.
The Draka would be the definition of the absolute darkest outcome of the dutch colonial efforts. And it couldn't be further from the truth. I'm glad this path of history never came to fruition!

Idk if the worst possible outcome for Western civilization is accurate at all since its not possible.
I know that there is a certain suspension of disbelief you must assume to enjoy a lot of alternate history things but things that deal with history should be logical and plausible whereas this shit just sounds like a fairy tale. It sounds more like a shitty fanfic/hoi4 game gone wrong lol

Butthurt Commies. Man, takes me back to the good old Premier bowels from back in the day. Who would win in a coup? Molotov or Zhukov? Bukarin or Beria? Or would Serov sweep in at the last second and coup everyone at once? After seeing those, I personally consider it a miracle the Soviet Union won any war at all, let alone existed.
