Edit: Yeah i doubt this is an Audio Issue. Everytime something interesting starts the audio goes off. What an accident. Its one thing to do this, its another to not properly disclose this to try to push a platform, like this is borderline fraudulent and honestly not worth my time or money. I genuinly like your takes and content, altough i dont always agree with them at all. But after the debate with vaush, which in my point still turned out in your favour, showed you have some character issues and this in my opinion just shows another side of it.
If im wrong, im happy to redact my comment, but i honestly dont believe it.

As Brazilian i agree even during the times of slavery the blacks could buy freedom and we have true sucess stories of former slaves even a black soldiers who fought for emperor pedro the first and end up as baby sitter for pedro II who shaped him to be an abolicionist. This is one of many stories there is also a aleijadinho little disabled a former slave who wad the greatest sculptor of 18th century brazil i saw some of his works in Ouro preto he got his name becasd he had leper ouro preto means black gold becase the gold mines had gold mixed with iron ore wich made the gold black but it was called villa rica rich village at the time

On Ethiopia, it was dominated for most of its history by Amhara and Tigray. The last group dominating were the Tigray, that lost their power a few years ago and now are fighting a civil war, allied with some Oromo, against the Amhara and Afar. The information WIAH has an the war is a few months old though, by now the government has pushed the Tigray rebels back into their own province and is starving them to death by blocking food imports to it. So overall, it looks like the government is winning.

I like some of Jordan Petersons ideas, but it seems to me like hes losing relevance. He appeals to a certain group of intellectuals who still value aspects of religion, but it seems to me like rationality vs religion is becoming a pretty strong dichotomy for the most part.
I agree that there is an ideological void forming that will need to be replaced by something. I worry that it could be something quite dysfunctional though

The premise of pearl is very sound and I would love to see it succeed. You should lean towards interoperability and bridging to other services, so you can ameliorate the network effect disadvantage (similar to what Matrix protocol is doing.
I personally like to use FOSS software that is privacy oriented and can be self-hosted, so it would be a big advantage if Pearl ticked at least some of those boxes.

Rudyard I love your explanation in the beginning as to why you don't do alt hist anymore. And I completely agree with your reasoning, we're around the same age and I remember finding your vids extremely entertaining. But after a while your starts to go to the future as you come to an age where you can have an influence on things.

If you want more people to go to Pearl, you need to fix the audio cutting issue, it's annoying and makes it seems like Pearl is having problems. Instead, posting maybe 30 minutes of the discussion and having the rest on Pearl would motivate people to switch more effectively
