Its a great book/series. But many other books have refined the style, and saying best book is a somewhat crazy statement, it'd take a lifetime to read even just the fantasy books that came out in the past five years.
Also, not a big deal, but The Hobbit is 300ish pages not 100

You guys should look up the story of j. r. Tolkien when he talk to the Nazis because the originally liked his book The Hobbit and his treatment of the dwarves because the dwarves are based off Jews and their language is Semitic his response is perfect

The wonderful part of this book is the vocabulary. The beautiful English words that have fallen into disuse, or minimal use. I learned to really appreciate English based on this book.
