What Makes -Doctor Who- Great Are the Sidekicks, Not the Time Lord - Angry Nerd

Scripts for upcoming episodes of Doctor Who have leaked online, but should you read them before they air? It doesn't matter! The scripts aren't the secret to the Doctor's longevity. It's the companions that make or break any given episode, arc, or season, and Angry Nerd can prove it

I'm a Whovian, both Classic and Reboot. I feel I need to state credentials before stating which companion I hate so I don't get a lash of people screaming at me. You're all naming the mainstream companions but the Dr has had PLENTY of companions, and the one I can honestly say I think is the worst, yes Clara. granted Clara was given a great storyline but something about the character is a dreadful turnoff. Most people would probably say Rose and those who don't say Rose typically are the ones who just are going off attraction factor. BUT Rose had an awesome storyline, she played it really well, and come on. everyone knows they wish they could be the big bad wolf. Second worst Companion, yea Rory. his character was a bore and a nuisance. Third would probably fall onto Mickey. likeable character, given little to no plot development though. Personally my favorite companions probably fall on either Sarah Jane/K9 or Jack Harkness.

rose was a huge miss on me cause i just can't see someone acting like that, her arcs and lines always seemed sloppy and like the writers were writing her for themselves and not the doctor. I do however LOVE AND WORSHIP THE GROUND THAT DONNA NOBLE STEPS ON. She was the perfect counterpart to the doctor, and the best thing, SHE DID NOT WANT TO BONE HIM! that's what pisses me off about alot of companions, they are not supposed to be his girlfriends, wives, significant others or anything like that, they are supposed to balance out the doctor and be his confidant, friend, and oh yeah, COMPANION. and not gonna lie, but i'm kinda tired of there always being a female companion, can't the writers write up a good script with a compatant male companion that isn't in a relationship with the actual companion ( and no i don't count Captain Jack Harkness as a full companion)?

I thought rose was so overrated, she was a jerk to Mickey, she really only cares about herself, its truly annoying. I used to not like Clara either but now that they stopped the -boyfriend- thing, you can actually start to see her true character instead of being the -pretty companion- I didn't like it the first time with rose, really didn't like it the second time with Clara- Bright side: The future is bright with her and capaldi

My problem with Rose was that she felt too generic as the companion, and she never really had much of a speciality besides kinda turning into a bat-shit crazy Mary Sue and then getting signed off the show with shameless fan service. I had no problem with the actress, she was fantastic; her character just wasn't written very well in my opinion for the reasons stated above.

I absolutely hated Donna Noble as a companion. I couldn't stand it, almost had to skip a season. It did keep my interested though, thinking that she was going to die in the library, I was so happy when she lost her memory. Her granddad was cool though.
Also, Rose Tyler may be overrated, but Martha Jones isn't half as bad as people says she is.

I came back to say, Clara was a terrible companion. There, I said it. Why? Because the story arch ran it's course too long. When she -died- the first time in The Name of the Doctor (season 7, episode 13, that should have been the climax, the answer to why she was the -impossible girl-. There, I said it.

Karen Gillan does not portray Caecilius' daughter, Evelina, in the Fires of Pompeii. She plays an unnamed soothsayer of the Sibylline Sisterhood. If you are going to portray an angry nerd that feeds on exploiting plot holes (which is a character I can enjoy, please fact check your own analysis.

Least favorite? There's no such thing! And you are completely, absolutely wrong about Rose. I cried when she was lost in the other dimension. Every episode has been awesome and if all goes well, it will continue to be for another 50 years.

Moffat said that they were going to address Capaldi's previous appearances IN THE SHOW! It's going to be apart of some new arch, and was apparently written by Russell T Davies during his time as the head writer.

Donna Nobel is probably my least favorite of the companions. i do agree that rose is a BIT overrated.
As for favorite? Honestly for girls I like Martha and for boys I like Jamie McCrimmon
