Computer-generated characters are looking better every year, but there-s one thing that-s not up to technological snuff: the voices. The new Avengers film is no exception-Angry Nerd explains the problem with having Ultron sound exactly like James Spader instead of an evil robot. SUBSCRIBE for more videos

Finally, there is something I disagree with Angry Nerd about. Most time I am on the same page as he is, but not this time.
I thought James Spader did a great job voicing Ultron. I had not seen/heard him do anything since Stargate but thought he gave Ultron a -human- aspect.
Angry Nerd complained that in the comic book version Ultron has a -mech- voice, so? In the comics, Wolverine wears a yellow outfit.
In fact, of all the things to not like about superhero films that are originally comic books, the voice of Ultron is the least of the problems.
My beef is the costumes and the story. I mean, I saw still for a Avengers porn movie and they, with a FAR smaller budget, GOT THE UNIFORMS RIGHT. If some piddly porn company can get them right, why cant a multi million dollar franchise? 20th Century Fox has the cash and the talent in the costume department, so, why?
Then there is the stories. They take a little bit of the characters story that everyone knows and then go WAY off the track.
I am tired of Hollywood changing my history. For example, I grew up with Star Trek. I know the stories and the back ground of the characters like the back of my hand. Then, here comes J. J. Abrams, a guy who knew almost nothing about the show and they decide to just throw away almost 50 years of history.
It's the same with the superhero films. The X-Men became popular because of the comic books stories and art. If the comic is so popular that you can make a successful movie out of it, why change anything? Why change what made it successful in the first place.
I'm off topic. Anyway, Angry Nerd, don't worry about Ultrons voice being mechanical or not. There are other, bigger problems with the superhero genre movie to worry about.

I mean some stuff from comics to movies are gonna be different. Comics are all good for that robot, mechanical voice. Imagine if you had to hear it while sitting in the theater for almost 3 hours. I for one would have got up and left from sheer annoyance. Making James Spader the voice of Ultron was great because Ultron can be very sinister with help of James Spader's voice. Many people are going to disagree with me, believe me I know. Being a faithful comic book reader, the Spader voice worked for me when it was coupled with Ultron.

i'd let Bradley Cooper slide on Rocket because it's not his normal voice. if they'd never told us who was Rocket before the movie released we would have been shocked. i agree with you and some of the commentors about Ultron, he should not have been a well known actor but it should have been closer to a human voice than you were suggesting. it's been 50+ years since Ultron first came in the comics, technology now is better than the comic writers were guessing at, there should be some level/possibility of emotion in it.

Not everyone that see's the avengers is going to be a hardcore comic, or even casual comic reader. They humanized Ultron's voice via James Spader to put emphases on how human-like the AI that was created was. Making it seem like a more credible threat, and also grasping emotion that the AI might have, while also appealing to the more casual movie goer that may not have knowledge of the character's depiction in comics. I feel they found a good balance, but I can see your argument. Then again, I'm not an Angry Nerd.

Peter Dinklage was great as Ghost! I miss him. He brought such a calming almost asmr quality to a robot character which is something really never done before. They replaced him with an obnoxious nervous robot character which is so cliche at this point I've seen it done many many times. They could've fleshed out his personality a little more but still.

Favorite avenger 1 scene. Simply the scene where Loki is trying to telling the hulk all the reasons he's better then the avengers. And the Hulk retorts with grabbing his leg, swinging him around like a rag doll and finally walking away leaving Loki absolutely ruined. Then finishing with a -puny god. -

I love your videos. That was cool how you covered -snowpiercer- and mentioned the fact that the name of -Edge of tomorrow- was changed. I noticed that the DVD name was different, I seen it in movies and loved it! I like your videos! Have you done a top PC game list this year?

I feel like Avengers 2 did a better job on downtime than any other Avengers movie. They showed a lot of them being chill and just hanging out. It made me want to be their friend not only because they have powers, but also because they seemed like genuinely cool people.

I'm curious, what did you think of Destiny? I've heard a lot of people don't like it, but I personally quite enjoy it. They could have extended the storyline more and more for the player to do, but I thought overall, it was a great game.

What do u think of call of duty advanced warfare having a actor as the main antagonist and the new call of duty black ops 3 having a real professional football player be put into a video game as a antagonist
