Ever wonder how the puppets on Sesame Street operate? The puppeteers for some of Sesame Street's most famous characters share their insights on how they bring their iconic characters to life. The puppeteers for Elmo, Big Bird, Mr. Snuffleupagus, Abby Cadabby, and Rudy explain the various functions and features of their Muppets. You can catch Snuffy and all his friends in the new season of Sesame Street on HBO or everyday on HBO Family or PBS Kids

Kevin Clash will always be the only true Elmo to me. RIP Caroll Spinney the original voice of Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch. and shout out to Frank Oz the original voice of Grover (who also voiced Yoda! They-re all amazing, these new puppeteers are NO WAY CLOSE to how amazing all those guys are/were. that Ryan Dillon guy seems snarky and doesn-t deserve to play Elmo, who-s pure hearted and not mean.

I hope, there will be more Snuffy appearances! Main character he should be! Well-if his puppeteers allow it.
Also, this Rudy character, as I-ve never actually seen an HBO ep of Sesame Street, that-s just me. Curious, but it gets me into trouble - I was born with it! 19 years young and still going!

Why couldn't the new Elmo puppeteer say Kevin Clash's name? Is it forbidden in the annals of Sesame Street? The man is a globally renowned and beloved legend. Yes, he messed up like many of us do, but he should he given the utmost respect. ALWAYS.

I remember a part of childhood dying when I learned that my favorite characters were attached to adults moving around on the floor with their arms up in the air. But as an adult, I find it absolutely fascinating.

Unlike other people little me was actually ok with with them being not real, infact i was actually really curious on how they do it because they don't really look like the classic hand puppets i used as a kid TvT

I like to see the Puppeteers control their Sesame Street Muppets to make alive and cool. And I love all the Sesame Street Characters because they are awesome and funny.

Those are nice characters you guys have and nice voices you guys can do you guys should do way more like the other once of sesame street.

Is Martin P. Robinson semi-retired? Because his characters haven't appeared much recently.
Not that he doesn't deserve it of course!

reply

Okay but Martin Robinson looks EXACTLY how I'd imagine someone playing Snuffleupagus would look and that's the best thing in the world.
reply

That-s not the voice actor for Elmo, the voice actor and puppeteer for Elmo is the same person, and he-s a black man named Kevin Clash
