Every Starfighter in Star Wars Explained By Lucasfilm

video description

Rating: 4.0; Vote: 1
Lucasfilms' Doug Chiang and Amy Beth Christenson explain each and every type of starfighter from the Star Wars movie franchise. These small, combat-focused spacecrafts have become a canvas for some of the most iconic designs in all of cinema. Ever wondered why the snout of the X-Wing is so pronounced, or why the Y-Wing's paneling is so bare? Amy Beth and Doug offer all these insights and much more! Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters December 20th CORRECTION: The planes shown at 7: 23 are Vought SB2U Vindicator dive bombers, not Douglas SBD Dauntless bombers. WIRED regrets the error

You know I wish that the resistance were equipped with clone wars weaponry just to show that they were literally using scraps for gear I mean they can use damaged phase 2 clone helmets or armor and add a layer of sash bandolier or rig pouches and give it a distinctive orange paint or markings on the white armor then for the starfighters they could go with hybrid of the Z-95 and ARC-170 or T-70 X-wing parts for their starfighter and use the clone wars variant of the Y-wing and make it more -junk- look and color palette

You really see the leaps in design between the first and second trilogy, and yet there's a logical evolution to the ships. Each one having their own distinct silhouette. Then you contrast that with the absolute lack of forethought when it comes to the designs for the most recent trilogy. -It's like the original TIE Fighter, but beefier. - -It's like the original X-Wing. - -It's like the original A-Wing. - Ironically yielding no original designs.

Isn't the Aluminium Falcon (Thanks Seth MacFarlane) supposed to be an old freighter right? So why would it have an escape pod at the front in the original design? I saw these ships pushing cargo containers around with the front in Episode 1 so how is it supposed to have an escape pod there? This is why everything after Episode 3 should just be scrapped.

I believe you also see the ghost in episode 9 when the fleet comes to attack the Final order fleet at the end of the movie and it zooms in on the falcon on the right of the falcon you can see it quickly.

Everyone complaining about the progression of vehicles in the sequels yet in Legends they were using X-Wings, B-Wings, A-Wings, Y-Wings, and TIE Fighters deep into the expanded universe.

Oh wow, how are so many People mixing up starfighters with transports or gunships.
Please stop saying that they missed the Slave1, it is not a starfighter.

Original Trilogy: 1970's look, sharp and industrial
Prequels: Hand carved, 1920's look
Sequels: Uummmm just use the OG stuff, but change the colors a bit

All these are moot point when Han Solo was so unceremoniously killed in a patricide for no story arch purpose whatsoever.
No snowspeeder. bummers!

U-Wing: Support/Gunship.
It's technically not a Starfighter so I guess we're not going to feature it.
Mildly disappointing.
